In response to enormous demand, the Hanhala of Oholei Torah has announced the launch of Yeshivas Kayitz Tannersville for Talmidim from all Lubavitch Mosdos who are graduating 8th grade.
With just a couple of months until summer, Director Rabbi Levi Feldman explains that each year hundreds of Talmidim leave 8th grade as children and enter Mesivta as Bochurim. “With the growth of our Mosdos, there simply aren’t enough options available to help Talmidim navigate this transition and the new experiences, expectations and responsibilities it brings.”
Yeshivas Kayitz Tannersville will fill this gap with a top-quality program designed and directed by professional and experienced Mechanchim. With a comprehensive program of academics and adventure, YKT will be an experience of active learning and growing in Torah and Yiras Shamayim, based on the strengths and interests of each individual Talmid.
YKT’s counselors, Rebbeim and Mashpiim are trained educators and caring guides, each with several years of practical experience. They will focus on providing the tools, knowledge, motivation and responsibility necessary to thrive in Mesivta and in life.
Oholei Torah’s own eighth grade rebbi beloved by parents and students alike, Rabbi Levi Feldman is a veteran educator with over a decade of proven talent in camps and in the classroom. Rabbi Feldman is especially noted for his ability to impart lifelong Yiddishe and Chassidishe values in exciting and practical ways. He developed the YKT program to provide a proactive environment during the summer that helps Talmidim excel in the years (and life) ahead.
YKT will be housed at the very peak of the Catskills mountain range, in the sprawling Cortina Mountain Ski Resort in Tannersville, NY (about 2.5 hours from Crown Heights). On the mountaintop campsite, Talmidim will enjoy crisp and cool air and wide array of on-site and nearby activities. The program also features electives including art, music, Safrus, first aid, kashering kitchens, public speaking and more.
In addition to strong learning and personal development skills, YKT’s program will innovate with V’da Ma Shetoshiv, an eye-opening session on the foundations of Yahadus and Chassidus. By addressing the questions asked on Mivtzoim or asked of themselves, Talmidim can look forward to strengthening their understanding of and connection to Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit in practical and meaningful ways.
Yeshivas Kayitz Tannersville is under the executive directorship of Rabbi Sholom Goldstein. As the Menahel of Oholei Torah Mechina, Rabbi Goldstein is known as a hands-on, attentive principal who is respected by parents, beloved by students and admired by teachers. Rabbi Goldstein is continually introducing valuable Chinuch principles that positively affect Talmidim in all grades.
Rabbi Feldman notes that all applications will receive equal consideration, though space is expected to be very limited. “Every parent and Mechanech wants their children and Talmidim to enter Mesivta from a place of acceptance, not chas vesholom rejection,” he explains. “Every Talmid deserves a solid place to go and we’re striving to provide that solid place.”
You are invited register your son at www.YeshivasKayitzTannersville.com to assure him a summer experience that is more than an island in time, but a fortified bridge to his future.
