In what will make history twice, the fifty-thousand-store global sandwich giant SUBWAY has selected an Orthodox Jew and Lubavitcher to ascend the main stage of its Franchisee Global conference in Australia next month.
Kivi Bernhard, an internationally acclaimed business speaker and author, will keynote the closing general session of the 2014 Subway Convention to be held on the Gold Coast in Australia, March 7th through 9th.
An expected 3000 attendees and affiliates of the largest fast food chain in the world will enjoy three days of learning and networking with guest appearances from leading industry captains and members of the USA corporate executive team.
Represented by Saxton Speaker Bureaus, a major corporate speaker bureau operating in the Australasia and European markets, Kivi Bernhard was selected from a suite of seven world class keynote speakers of which he says, “I am without doubt the most junior.”
The Subway conference main stage is regarded as very prestigious and a high profile platform for speakers. Kivi continues, “…there is no way what-so-ever that I could have sought out and booked this platform on my own, it is impossible to do. Hashem wanted and desired that this particular Kiddush Hashem take place and He chose me as His Shliach to do so, that is simply what happened.”
Bernhard also shared that while he has been blessed to speak on many Fortune 500 and even 1000 platforms, the SUBWAY platform will be of particular note as it is televised and the industry leader in fast food / sandwich global brands, even exceeding McDonald’s in terms of locations.
Notwithstanding the size of the corporation, they were concerned about accommodating the needs of just one Orthodox Jewish speaker. “They have pulled out all the stops to accommodate me in terms of Shabbos and food, and are even flying in some kosher “foot longs” for me that will be prepared under hashgocha in Melbourne,” said Bernhard.
Rabbi Levy Jaffe, Shliach in Brisbane has been a major help to Bernhard, assisting him with Shabbos arrangements and whatever necessary for his trip.
“I ask for the Eibishter’s blessing and guidance and hope to fully represent Him, Klal Yisroel and the Rebbe on my shlichus to the Subway Franchise Convention 2014,” concludes Bernhard.
Hashem chose the best man for the job
kIddush Hashem.so proud of you
Yasher Koach, Kivi! You make us proud!
you are an amazing speaker!!
From what I’ve heard once at a business conference that he spoke at, his message is to go out there and utilize all the G-d given unique traits of the business/person/establishment to contribute and impact this world.
G-d is very much a part of his speech, specifically because he doesn’t hide that he is a religious Jew- allowing him to use it as a primary example of “doing your thing” and branding your name in the world.
to # 12
I also remember him from the “good ole days”. Some good times!
So what’s the message for a world-wide, generally treife establishment that one can give as representative of god, rebbe, Judaism? Or is the fact that bernhardt is ortho-jewish incidental and his message is purely business-oriented?
I remember Bernhard from way back when. What a great guy!
