February 9, 2014 1:16 am

the letter in the article got nothing to do with what kolel is about, it maybe good to get $ from outsiders. the Rebe wanted a kolel for every couple to start on the foundations of Torah….(explained in sichos) whatever it is yasher koach for the efforts

If you want to learn in kollel you need to know how you’ll manage! It’s very nice to say that you will depend on Hashem but Hashem wants you to do hishtadlus. If the Rebbe’s directive of everyone learning in kollel for ONE year is important to the community then there should be something organized to support it in an orderly and mechubad fashion. If it is NOT important to the community (and it looks like it is not important to anyone who is not currently learning there) then everyone can either leave or fund himself. So let’s choose –… Read more »

Our community: We have now a buzzing Kingston avenue, a growing Albany and business are getting fancier and fancier. B”h there are many affluent people in our community. Yet our very own Kollel has been out of funds for years! And when there was a paycheck it was $225! That’s toilet paper money! Guys get married, have expenses of 3500 a month and they want to learn, they want to do the right thing. Think about it, Limud Hatorah is the most important thing in the world, really we are obligated to learn the whole day. The only way one… Read more »

Reb Noach, you are THE best. Hashem should give you the strength to continue your holy work for many years to come.

This is definitely a worthy cause. This is something I benefited from greatly. Thank you Rabbi Klein. Thank you Rabbi Heller. Thank you all those Anavim who I do not have the knowledge to thank!

I pledge $1000. This is dedicated to the Aliyas Neshama of a great chassid, Rabbi Shaya Gansbourg, on this special day, his Yortzayt.

Listen To Noach!

My boy Noach just convinced this reformed Jew to donate. C’mon people…reach into your pockets. Support the study of Torah.

Good

Good news for the current “residents”. Shame I’ll never see a penny of what I’m owed. But I’m sure G-d will provide some other way

The Kollel is open for everyone to learn
February 7, 2014 12:02 pm

I go sometimes to learn on a Sunday. It is a pleasure to have such a great place to learn with a real Kol Torah

More Anash should come learn there

Create a paid-chavrusa system
February 7, 2014 10:19 am

There are MANY balei-batim who would PAY to learn an hour or two with a kollel guy. This should be set up THROUGH the kollel and as a way of fundraising for the kollel budget. Many kollels do this outside of CH and everyone gains: the kollel guy gets a bit extra income, the kollel admin gets funds, the kollel gives back to community and becomes partners with the community, while the balei batim are getting extra value for their dollars. It is a Win-Win system.

amazing!
February 7, 2014 9:40 am

is there a link maybe to do it online?
maybe s1 can set it up?
and BTW rent costs 1400-2000!
but 1100 wouldve been nice 🙂

one year later

What could be a more worthy cause
February 7, 2014 9:06 am

The kollel has no tuition no pell grants no income.

Whoever helps Hashem will help them!!!!

It is the Rebbes mosed with his name on it.

Every little helps.

The Kollel and Limud Hatorah is what the Rebbe
February 7, 2014 9:04 am

gave his live away and for the Shluchim. As a Kollel Member Reb Noach comes each day to check on the place to help to clean the place to have everything he can afford to help us with. Each day he comes and talks to the guys and try’s to collect funds to keep our salaries up to date. BH since he has started to help the place has been paid almost up to date and the place is cleaned almost daily and the heat and electric bills have been paid. It is not easy so please help him so… Read more »

question
February 7, 2014 8:02 am

Hoping (and assuming) they get the donations they r seeking, will they raise the Kollel salary to enough to cover rent?

Please give generously!
February 7, 2014 1:30 am

Fact: this is the main kolel in Lubavitch Fact: the Rebbe wanted that kolel yungerleit should get paid a nice amount (people say, to cover the cost of rent ) Fact: Rent today is something between $1100-1400 Fact: until now the amount these kolel yungerleit are getting is (tops) $300 Fact: most guys in kolel end up having to spend their small amount of wedding gifts!! just to live the bare minimum every month. Fact: this is the right place for a Lubavitch yungerman to go right after he gets married. Fact: outside of Lubavitch they are paying guys to… Read more »

Rabbi Heller
February 7, 2014 1:16 am

Thank you very much for all that you do. When we were not receiving our monthly payment this past year you were the one that gave us every few months a very nice amount of money.

This is all besides the great shiurim, and personal attention you give to whoever confess over to speak to you

Thank you,

Noach Fox - the only person that really cares
February 7, 2014 1:10 am

Reb Noach is the only person that is actually doing something for us yungerleit. After a year that no one received their $300(!!) monthly pay check, he’s the only one that goes out to help us. Arranged for some months a paycheck, fixed (from his own pocket) our hearing system, pays someone to clean the seforim and the place in general

Thank you very much Reb Noach!

Please please please, help him (and us :)) out. Thank you

It's about time
