This year’s Grand Annual Shluchos Farbrengen filled all five floors of the Shluchim Center, up to and including a lavishly-appointed rooftop tent.
Three simultaneous farbrengens, conducted in both Hebrew and English, inspired the hundreds of Shluchos who filled the building over the course of the evening. A complete floor was dedicated to a tantalizing display of finger foods and delectable desserts.
“This annual event just gets better each and every year,” one participant said. “The artic chill which settled on New York City during the Kinus weekend seemed to spur the staff of the Shluchim Office to work even harder to make it a smashing success.”
Shluchos had a choice of entering four raffles for valuable prizes, including a glamorous Shevy Wig, an iPad and more. And of course, there was free on-site babysitting and shuttle bus service.
One shlucha spoke enthusiastically about listening to Rabbi Mendel Samuels of Weatogue, CT: “It was amazing to see such a large group of Shluchos totally absorbed in Rabbi Samuels’ message addressing ‘The Many Relationships of a Shlucha’. He was a great combination of wisdom and wit, and knew exactly where we were coming from.”
Various Shluchos representing different generations addressed “Practical Ideas on Bringing Chassidishkeit Into our Homes”. The room overflowed with active participants. In this intimate setting, the atmosphere was so conducive to exploring this topic.
The atmosphere on the rooftop tent was remarkable, and not at all cold! Mrs. Tilah Hecht of Eilat, Israel partnered with her musical sister Mrs. Rivkie Brodt from California to create a beautiful gathering. Tila addressed the topic of “Instilling Chassidishkeit during 4 Stages of Your Life” with musical interludes which were led by Rivkie.
The Shluchim Office would like to thank the following five individuals for their inspiration: Dini Freindlich – Beijing, China – MC of the event, Chana Posner – Boston, MA, Chani Diskin – Munich, Germany, Nechama Dina Hecht – Greenfield, MA and Chani Kaplan – Victoria, BC.
Gratitude goes to all the staff members of The Shluchim Office who contributed to the success of this event.
An additional farbrengen was held on Sunday evening after the conclusion of the Gala Banquet, giving the Shluchos another opportunity to ‘fill up’ with inspiration for the upcoming year.
The Grand Annual Shluchos Farbrengen is a project of The Shluchim Office held each year at the Kinus Hashluchos.
