The largest Jewish retreat of its kind in the United States will be held this summer in The Loop area of Downtown Chicago, near City Hall, Millennium Park, Field Museum, and the Art Institute.
The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute announced that it will be hosting its ninth annual National Jewish Retreat at the magnificent Palmer House Hilton, the magnificent and historic hotel founded in 1871.
Only minutes walking distance from many of Chicago’s most popular attractions, Palmer House has undergone a $170 million renovation to ensure that it includes all of the 21st century conveniences and comforts while preserving its history.
The hotel is so steeped in history that the chocolate brownie was invented there at the request of the owner’s wife. And while no effort is spared at the retreat to offer the finest food kosher has to offer, the focus will be its intellectual stimulation.
Set for August 6-10, 2014 (Av 10-Av 14, 5774), the retreat offers five days of learning and discovery with master Torah teachers, allowing participants to explore new ideas and expand horizons in an open and embracing environment.

go chicagooo!! 🙂
i love the pics.its so nice!!!!!!
It’s not the inner city. It’s the Chicago Loop! Also, we have air conditioning in these parts. The glass is full! This is an awesome location.
This ain’t New York. We generally have very comfortable weather here in the summer. Even hot days turn into great evenings and the hotel is right on the lake so.expect cool breezes. The glass is half full, stop looking at the half empty part.
see you there!
wow. so gorgeous and elegant, how fitting.
i see an issue with the hotel being in a inner city and the heat, however the program will be able to draw a crowd from the local area so that will be good.
Beautiful! For the pics alone, I’m going!!!
Boruch does a spectacular job in running the JLI retreat, and his work pays off!
Wow!! Kol Hakavod to Rabbis Moshe Kotlarsky, Efraim Mintz, Heshy Epstein and rest of the staff for creating these amazing 5-Star events and programs.
I wish I could afford to attend!
I dont know how theyve done it, but jli has done something remarkable, especially in the chabad world. theyve made themselves synonymous with quality.
the retreat, the courses, the israel trips, all the things they do are top shelf stuff.
kol hakavod, a real kiddush lubavitch
the program will be as upscale as the accommodations.
Go Chicago!!
