A second webcast of “MyLife: Chassidus Applied” with Rabbi Simon Jacobson is aired on COLlive.com, discussing addiction, shalom bayis, narcissism, depression, chinuch and more.
Episode Two follows the positive response from the Chabad community after the pilot launch in which Rabbi Jacobson cut right to the chase by answering serious and heavy questions regarding the role of Torah in psychology, healthy vs. unhealthy kabolos ol, and addiction.
“I purposely addressed general, over-arching questions to lay down a foundation for the topics that will be explored at length in the coming weeks,” explained Rabbi Jacobson after the broadcast aired.
The feedback has been pouring into COLlive and The Meaningful Life Center with accolades for the initiative and asking for more.
Tonight, Rabbi Jacobson hosts another hour-long live webcast and plans to answer questions pertaining to shalom bayis, chinuch, depression and anxiety, and narcissism.
He will also revisit the topic of addiction to provide a more comprehensive approach to dealing with it due to the abundance of follow up questions.
Many voiced a need to have a completely anonymous way of submitting questions, so a form has been put into the site meaningfullife.com/MyLifeLive to allow for complete privacy.
“Keep the questions coming”, urged Rabbi Jacobson. “The questions pouring in reflect that we are all human and not immune to the issues plaguing society. The beautiful thing is that we have the best medicine around -both remedial and preventative, and it’s called Chassidus.”
LIVE VIDEO:
it may be time for Rabbi Jacobson to write a new book. Applying Chassidus in our days????? Where you can elaborate on all the important issues
Not a bad idea, to make a TV series on the outlook of Chassidus. That will prepare the whole world for Moshiach.
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson, keep up the Great work
Rabbi Jacobson,
Would you please address why, as chassidim, we are careful with what we see and hear e.g. kosher/non kosher music, kosher/non kosher media etc. as to how it affects out neshama according to Tanya.
Perhaps cholov yisroel vs akum’s effect on our neshama can be addressed at some point as well.
Thank you so much for all this information, we all need it.
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson. I have been very missed up for some time now and your words are more effective than 100 sessions I have had with ny therapists. I commend you and urge you to please continue these talks. They are mamash a life saver for me and I assume for many other listeners. Thanks also to CLO for bringing this to the public forum.

Dear Rabbi Jacobson, Thank you for stepping up and sharing your knowledge of chassidus and your clarity on these most important topics and everyday challenges for everyone to benefit from. May Hashem repay you with an abundance of Brocha for your willingness to step up and give of yourself. I find that some of the topics you are addressing can be addressed more thoroughly and down to more detail, from different life angles. Maybe it would be an idea to cover less topics each time yet cover each one more thoroughly. Again thank you very much for willing to do… Read more »
Was powerful and very well said
Thank you!
This is what is missing. Chassidus explained in a way that shows how it is REAL and can be the answer to getting through life. These essays need to be distilled into book form for all to read. No such book based on Chassidus at the moment I don’t think
can it be longer, at least 40 min more please!! its very good and helpful
very nice discussion, just to mention, the first part had a lot of info on a little bit of a quick speed, hatzlacha raba
Beautiful how you put things in perspective. Everyone can benefit from it.

We need more of this!
Thank you thank you col and Rabbi Jacobson!!!! Please don’t ever ever put an end to this series. It is like water when you are thirsty. All Chasidim need to brush up on this relevant Chassidus so they will know how to practically speak to their teenagers and themselves when they are struggling. This is true hafatza hamayanos !!!!
Once again Reb Simon was able to explain the fine yet foundational ideas in chassidus and avodas hashem that are oftentimes missunderstood or missused, in an articulate manner so that we can think about it correctly and benefit from it. Thank you very much!
Loved the insight and your passion for the info. Was real, and great lessons to learn, thank you! Looking forward to next time.
