Leave it up to the 7th grade Shluchim-bochurim in Oholei Torah, to once again come up with a creative interactive program for the boys, bringing great excitement to preparing for Yud Shvat.
As part of a gala award ceremony, rewarding the boys for their involvement in the yud shvat mivtzah, the boys had a chance to try out a pair of Google Glass.
The boys were shown how the interactive glasses brought the entire world to a more personal and clearer level, giving the user the ability navigate and direct his daily activities with great ease.
“So too, every single thing in our day to day life is instructed by the Rebbe,” explained the organizers. “We have direction, we have clarity, easily accessible,” in the same way.
This was the purpose of the very succesful yud shvat mivtzah, to instill in the 12 year old boys the feeling that our Rebbe is “My Rebbe,” accessible as a father and leader.
A special video presentation took them on a journey, where together they grew, built, and illuminated, and accomplished so much leading up to the special day.
At the event, the boys enjoyed grape kabobs, and tropical fruit juice for tu’ bshvat. They were awarded with their prizes. They also received copies of “MY Rebbe – short stories by the supper table” which was compiled from all four weeks. The book features essays from the boys as well.
Particpants also received ‘Sheviin chavivin’ sweaters and finally, the most dramatic of all, a raffle for 12 boys to accompany the shluchim on an exclusive roadtrip was held.
The event amazed the boys, leaving them inspired and feeling good about themselves so they can take the koiches they got from here and continue doing all they can to bring Moshiach.
A special thanks to Rabbi Yossi Bryski, director of O.T.E.G. and Rabbi Sholom Goldstein for all their support and help. A huge thank you to our very own 7th grader Shabi Soffer, for arranging, designing, producing the video, and making the mivtzah a reality. Special thanks to the 2X1 team for the Google Glass and to Chony Milecki for the equipment.

He gives the kids personal attention and makes sure no kid gets left behind. The devotion he puts in, every bit of koach he has goes towards creating NEW programs and NEW mivtzahs!
