Schools around the world spent the weeks approaching Yud Shevat in earnest preparation for the special day. Some encouraged the students to learn “Bosi L’gani” by heart, and some placed an emphasis on going on Mitzoyim.
The Yaldei Hashluchim world over were no different. A special booklet was prepared by CYH (Chinuch Yaldei Hashluchim), the extracurricular programming department of The Shluchim Office, elaborating and explaining ten different ways by which a Chossid can connect himself to the Rebbe.
Throughout the ten days preceding Yud Shevat, the young Shluchim learned and worked on one of these each day. Like everything at CYH, each topic was brought to life with daily missions and downloadable craft projects, making each day’s topic real and practical to each one of the children.
In a real display of “far in distance but close at heart”, on Thursday 8 Shevat, the Shluchim around the world “gathered” together for a grand rally and Farbrengen at which they heard stories and ideas for strengthening their Hiskashrus.
Due to the different time zones, two rallies were held. The earlier one was emceed by Rabbi Teichtel, Shliach in Berlin Germany. The second one was led by Rabbi Rivkin, Shliach in New York.
Hundreds of young Shluchim attended and each one gained tremendously, they all approached Yud Shevat with a clear understanding of what Hiskashrus means to them.
