Women Join Florida Unity Event

In a first time ever event, women came from all over south Florida, as north as Palm Beach and as south as Homestead, for the first annual evening of music, inspiration and unity in honor of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson.

The evening was engineered by the Shluchos of South Florida all working together to plan and execute an event for the women of their communities.

Weeks of planning and hard work resulted in a perfectly orchestrated evening of unity, inspiration and song, dedicated to Mrs. Shaindy Lieberman, Shlucha of Lauderhill, FL who passed away 5 months ago.

The event opened with welcome remarks and tehilim with Mrs. Chanie Lebovics, of Chabad of Lauderhill. Chanie spoke eloquently about her mother, Mrs. Shaindy Lieberman. Mrs. Chanie Lipskar (Shul of Bal Harbour) spoke about rebbetzin Chaya Mushka and the important role she played in the Rebbe’s life.

Mrs. Goldie Tennenhaus, (Chabad of Hallandale) with her usual wit and wisdom, had the crowd laughing as she described the birth pains of Moshiach and the things the Rebbe asked of his chasidim.

Mrs. Helene Aragan, teacher at Lubavitch Educational Center, told the story of her unbelievable journey to yiddishkeit, resulting in the birth of her daughter. Mrs. Stacy Berry, principal at LEC, had the crowd mesmerized listening to her account of becoming frum, as she gave tribute to her friend Shlucha, Mrs. Nechama Harlig of Kendall.

In a perfectly seamless fashion, the speakers were interspersed with musical entertainment by the popular singer Chanale, who both inspired the crowd with her beautiful Niggunim, and had everyone dancing to her energetic classic hits.

The evening was enhanced by the striking table design, magnificent flowers and an array of healthy and delicious foods including fresh juices, hot detox soups, homemade desserts and a salad bar all displayed in the beautiful Shul social hall.

Organizers were blown away by the participation of the women from so many communities. “We prepared for 150 women….and close to 350 were in attendance. The only ones not so happy were the maintenance men who needed to quickly bring in an additional 200 chairs!”
