A message from Rabbi Pesach and Chanie Scheiner, directors of Chabad Lubavitch of Boulder County in Colorado:
As we in Boulder are back to regular life, we take this opportunity to thank the generous readers of COLlive.com for their overwhelming response and assistance to us and the Boulder Jewish Community in our time of need.
Boulder County was worst hit in the Colorado floods in September 2013. 5 days of heavy rainfall led to catastrophic flooding with 17 inches (430 mm) of rain recorded by September 15.
Over the flood, 4 deaths have been confirmed in Boulder County alone and over 1,600 people were evacuated, 4,000 homes were damaged. Nearly 900 square miles (2,300 km2) were damaged by flooding.
It was very heartwarming to see the outpouring of love and help we received while we were experiencing difficult moments. We were filled with much encouragement and energy to help others, due to the strong support from Jews across the world.
On behalf of Chabad Lubavitch of Boulder County and the Boulder Jewish Community we express our deepest thanks to you. Below is a video that we hope you enjoy:
