The year after high school is a crucial year in a young lady’s life. She is no longer a child, yet not quite an adult. She has finished her formal learning as required by law and society, but not quite finished growing. There is guidance from the Rebbe about continuing learning after high school.
Mechanchos and teachers and parents strongly recommend at least one more year of a strong formal program of learning and personal growth – seminary.
Every girl experiences seminary differently, and thus it is important to find a program that best matches who she is and who she would like to become. There are many wonderful Chabad seminaries throughout the world, each providing a different experience – a wonderful program here in Crown Heights, several in Eretz Yisrael, others in different cities in the United States and Canada, and in Australia and Italy. Ask any 12th grader, she’ll tell you how each one is different and is for a different type of girl who is seeking a different type of experience.
For this upcoming school year 5775, a new seminary Machon Bina is opening in central Israel. The program is under the capable directorship of Mrs. Shosh Rabinowitz, who has so meticulously assisted Mrs. Swerdlov’s YTT summer programs to Israel for teenage girls, in conjunction with several leading mechanchos and educators.
Founders say there is much excitement and interest amongst those who have heard the details of the program.
TONIGHT, Sunday, December 22 at 8:00 PM, there will be a conference call for 12th grade girls about the program. Another call for parents will IYH be held tomorrow night. See conference call details below.
A new seminary for Chabad girls will provide more seminary spaces for more girls who want to experience this seminary year in Eretz Yisrael. More importantly, this program is designed around the students – providing an environment where each can further develop her unique self and strengthen her identity and commitment to a life guided by Torah and Chasidus.
Every seminary program aims to help each girl grow. At Machon Bina, it is the details and the nuances of the program that fosters this growth – classroom learning (discussions, text based, small group learning and other modalities of adult learning) and hands-on/ minds-on projects. Through this blend of learning and projects, the girls will gain deep and meaningful insights into life as Chabad women and hone their individual strengths and learn new skills for living a full and purposeful life. The program will help them develop the mindsets and tools for life – as a woman, wife, mother, and Shlucha, or wherever life takes them.
The Machon Bina program is designed for girls who are currently committed to living a life of Torah & Chasidus, and are tznius in physical appearance and demeanor, and want to further grow and learn how to practically and meaningfully integrate the teaching of Torah & Chasidus into everyday living.
Amongst the many important concepts that will be explored during the year, with guidance from their teachers, the girls will explore: what is real happiness, what is it not, how do we attain it, what may get in the way and how to address those obstacles – all explored through the lens of Chasidus. They will also explore many other important concepts from Chasidus, providing a framework of recognizing how Chasidus is truly a guide for meaningful living in our contemporary times. Other topics include Bayis Yehudi – the role of the woman in her home – as a wife and mother in today’s world.
The learning will be engaging and interesting and relevant, on a high level and will be best suited for those who like to really engage with their learning, through analyzing text, by asking questions, discussing and reflecting.
A key objective of any seminary year is to help the students become their deepest potential through learning and support; this program is for those who really want to reach that through the hard work of personal growth.

If you know Shosh, her seminary will be just as you described!
Is this seminary only for american girls or europueen could come too?
Who are the rabbonim and what languages would they teach in??
Don’t forget europeen are normal persons they deserve a good sem too!!:) and most of then speak English and Hebrew.
costs will be aprox. $ 5.000,00 per year before grants etc.
How much?
wow! an incredible woman! with the seminary in her capable wise hands…Baruch Hashem!
souns great. the question is if we will finally have one seminary where the main concept is that every girl should feel loved and comfortable, and doesnt yelled by the principal all the time like happend to must of us .
ADVICE: Show respect and love for every single student and you will have a very successfull seminary iyh!
Are they charging non-refundable interview fees like the other sems? What a scam!!! Need to interview with 2 sems and pay $150 even though one may have zero interest in attending the second sem.
You’re the best!! Hatzlacha raba!!!
wow!!!!!!!!! keep up the incredible work!!!!! we love you!!!!!!!!
love your extended family in Pittsburgh 🙂
will their be a dorm cnslr?
went on the site
no real additional info given !!!!
You are absolutely right. The truth is that girls can gain from going to seminary. Whether it be in broadening their knowledge, acquiring new skills, and so on.
The problem is that there is so much corruption going on in the system. From merely being a “moisad” of the Rebbe, seminaries became a money making business.
What we need is a new set of rules limiting seminaries from charging such exorbitant amounts!
It is really unheard of. I don’t think this would be going on if the Rebbe was physically with us today. Moshiach Now!
The seminary is going to be in kfar chabad bet. They’ll be learning on the Bais Rivkah campus. The seminary accepts all the same grants as Rosenfeld and chitrik, including the touro option.
this is awesome!!!!
it’s so sad to see the question asked and repeated..
The cost? it’s heart wrenching actually. After all the years of tuition in school starting first grade through high school the parents are first facing a huge expense… Seminary…
I wonder – is going to seminary vs going to a shliach for real life, hands on experience worth the huge expense?
As I understand, mrs. Shosh rabinowitz saw a need – so many solid good girls were not able to go to seminary in eretz yisrael. Because there just wasn’t enough for them. And she decided tomake a program for that type of girl.
A chasidish program for chasidish girls.
Cost is comparable to other seminaries in israel.
Grants and Masa applicable, just as in beit chana tzfat.
This article has enough info to pique interest. For more details, check their website or contact them.
How much will it cost ???
The website isnt very informative.
who are the hanhola?
what is the location?
Is it under MASA and other grants? what are the fees?
will there be interviews 22 shevat?
Where in Israel is it located?
If this seminary has good standards and accepts girls of the same standard it could be a real help and real answer to the seminary problem
thank you to the ones who have initiated this
much hatzlacha
Where in Israel?
