A group of bochurim are suggesting a chassidus learning campaign for their like-minded peers in honor of Yud Shvat, the day the Rebbe assumed the leadership of Chabad-Lubavitch.
It is a result of a collective brainstorm by students of Shiur Daled at Oholei Torah Zal: Yanky Bennish of Detroit, Mendel Mintz of Crown Heights, Sruli Kagan of Monsey, Mendy Shollar of Far Rockaway, NY and Shlomie Schwei of London, England.
They selected 50 sichos, ma’amorim and letters from the Rebbe, translated them into English, and published them in a Kovetz entitled “Basic Moshiach Topics.”
They said it was in line with the Rebbe’s famous instruction on Parshas Tazria Metzroa 5751 that learning about Moshiach is the most direct and expeditious way to bring the redemption.
The booklets were then shipped to over a dozen Yeshivos, including Los Angeles, Postville, Pittsburgh, Staten Island, Oholei Torah, Montreal and Toronto.
Bochurim were encouraged to learn a small portion of it daily. Every week there will be a test, and those who pass will be entered into a raffle for an iPod, hard-drive filled with videos of the Rebbe, a plane ticket to New York for Yud Shevat, and a set of Seforim.
