There’s another spot where you can “eat Lubavitch.”
Since its opening 18 months ago, the Wolf & Lamb Brooklyn steakhouse has quickly become a crowd favorite for a memorable dinner of delicious food, friendly service, and relaxing atmosphere.
Yet one thing was missing: the availability of meat with Lubavitch shechita.
Last week, Wolf & Lamb proudly announced the meat slaughtered by Lubavitch chassidic shochtim will now be carried at their Brooklyn location. It will be available upon request with a reservation.
“This is a long time coming,” said owner Zalman Wuensch, a resident of Crown Heights. “We’ve had tremendous support from the Crown Heights community and we’re happy that we’re able to accommodate them.”
The new meat availability is just one part of Wuensch’s commitment to constantly improve on an already well reviewed location on Coney Island and Avenue M, in the heart of the vibrant Midwood and Flatbush neighborhoods.
They have also recently introduced a new and talented Chef Alexander Diaz, previously at The Smith & Jane, who has gone right to work creating delicious dishes that reflect the very best flavors of the season.
This week, he recommends trying his Guinness Stout Shepherd’s Pie, Marinated Rosemary Glazed Pastrami Apricots, or his Espresso & Brown Sugar Rubbed Filet.
Wuensch said his Glatt Kosher steakhouse is ideal for celebrating a birthday or an anniversary, hosting guests from out of town, or simply looking for a short escape “right here in Brooklyn.”

We went to W & L’s Manhattan location the day it opened and on most of our visits to NY. Will Lubavitch Shechita be available at the Manhattan location? Seems to me it will increase business there.

Wolf & Lamb is the best kosher restaurant in Brooklyn!! Possibly even in the city too.

I’m glad that now all members of my extended family can enjoy the succulent beef dishes.
The waiter can tell you anything you want to hear. And if the owner is Lubavitch, why did it take a year? What is the “regular” schechita? What happens if his clientele ask for Satmar? Debreczin? How would the chefs know which is which? It all sounds very confusing.
