The pottery painting trend has come to Crown Heights.
Popular around the country as a pleasant way to bond with family and friends while being creative, The Art Cafe on Troy Avenue has already garnered a following and many positive reviews.
“The best place to relax and enjoy,” one visitor wrote on Facebook about the ‘Paint Your Own Pottery Studio’. The Art Cafe offers a selection of over 200 items such as vases, mugs and platters and a variety of kid friendly pieces to color while sipping Nespresso coffee.
Their welcoming and friendly staff can help you choose between 48 colors and many techniques and design options. Tools and materials are provided to color your piece. Your original creation can be taken home after it is dipped in a clear non-toxic glaze and fired in a new state of the art kiln.
“We are an all-inclusive studio, so you don’t have to worry about how many colors you use or how long you spend creating your very own masterpiece,” says the owner Estee Setton (nee Grossbaum). “All you pay for is the price of your piece. There is no sitting fee,” she said.
Your pottery will be glossy, food-safe, and ready for pick-up in about a week. Items are available from $10 and up. The average mug is $15-$25.
Throughout Chanukah, as one of the a grand opening specials, they will be serving free donuts with a pottery purchase. The studio is also available to host birthday parties, friend’s day out, family reunions and other events. As a service, they also offer to bring pottery with all the supplies to your party location.
Estee appreciates her husband and family’s support in launching her business and making The Art Cafe a reality. A special mention goes to friends Yocheved and Mendy Wilhelm for helping prepare the studio for opening.
“I am looking forward to meeting all of you and making lots of new friends,” she said.

ditto to #47. my family, too. looks like a great place
were going there on chanuka with holl family instead of going to paint a pot
Kli cheres does not need to be toiveled unless it’s glazed. here the kli cheres is purchased pre-glazing and the glazing is done by a yid. I don’t think it needs to be toiveled.
Tables are full BH. may it continue with success. Estee, is you enjoy what you do, you don’t ‘work’ a day in your life and still pay your bills. Best of Mazal.
WOW
is it kid friendly?
im gonna be there soon!
great idea!!!!!!
Much HATZLOCHO !!!
YOU Deserve it.
i think it is meant for everyone, and painting pottery does not warrant separate hours as it is not done in a swimming pool…
lots of hatzlacha! Will be sure to check you up next time I am in town. Wonderful for the community to have kosher relaxing, creative entertainment that is really wonderful for young and old. Nice!
get some danishes love your coffee, want to grab one on way to work.
Will you have some boys’ hours? Is this mixed, meant for girls, boys sometimes – whoze it for? Hatzlacha.
This is an awesome place. I was there tonight, and the service is great. There’s a large selection of pottery to choose from. I’m looking forward to going there again.

Great place for children, teens, and adults! Can’t wait to come again!

Thanks Estee and Shaya for opening such a wonderful place in CH. The environment is so relaxing and super enjoyable.
Yes, the coffee is definitely a perk 🙂
We’ve had three of these places all along…..welcome to the club, CH!
If it was created by a yid, does not need tevillah; if ceramic pottery even needs tevillah.
I am so proud!! Estee, you are so creative and so lucky to have a husband who makes you dreams possible. you guys are the cutest and one of the most happiest couples i Have ever seen. heard that you staring to sell pastries by drizzle and whip aka altie (shur) greenberg… cant wait! it sounds like a big hit!! love u tonz!!
Such a nice relaxing form of entertainment…no need to travel its right next door. Its great for kids, adults, couples etc. The studio is has a great ambiance, its clean, comfortable, beautiful, and state of the art,. The customer service is amazing, they are so nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend it.
Yes, because all you’re doing is decorating. If you made the pots yourself……….

Wow this is Amazing much success
cuando abrimos aca en el barrio?
I am so excited about this new wonderful place, looks like it is a great creative outlet for all ages, couples, children, mother-daughter dates, etc!
Looking forward to painting!
a fantastic idea!! Not right on Kingston but not too far. I’d suggest off hours perhaps for just boys. Great idea for parties or just friends or bridal shower.
lots of luck!!
gr8 $ no sitting fee no firing fee
This is a really great idea. The kids in Crown Heights need more such activities to keep them busy and off the computer. If parents would make use of this place it would be a big bracha for them as it would give their children a place to be busy in a kosher way.
Do we have to reserve for Chanukah vacation?
is this suitable for a children’s activity?
Finally no need to out of the neighborhood for some kosher fun. You’ve got Jewish themed items to paint that could be so creative and visible in a frum home.
Thanks. Hope it works out well.
Yey! Next time I don’t need to travel to park slope to enjoy myself. And this location is perfect, in ch but not on Kingston, love!
My friend was there, said the coffee was amazing! Ill be there sometime this week!!
Any hours for boys? Would love to send my yeshiva bachur there!
B”H
I will definitely have my kids parties there!
So cute!!And compared to other pottery studios it really is well priced.
These types of places make fun wedding shower ideas!! you can do an entire set of dishes this way!!! or cheaper version like fun milchig mugs!!
Great location!
