Bill Thompson is quitting the race for mayor.
Sources said the former comptroller will throw in the towel Monday morning at a “unity” press conference on the steps of City Hall with Democratic rival Bill deBlasio and Gov. Cuomo — who thus far hasn’t taken a public position in the contest.
The sources said Thompson is confident enough with the results he’s seen so far in the re-canvass of voting machines to believe that de Blasio has cinched the nomination with more than 40 percent of the vote needed to avoid a runoff.
The city’s Board of Elections completed its re-count of more than 5,000 voting machines at about 9 p.m. Sunday night and is set to begin counting some 78,000 paper ballots Monday.
“We’ve finished the machines and we are updating the report,” BOE spokeswoman Valerie Vasquez said.
De Blasio recceived Soros’s millions ffor his campaign and De Blasio has deep Acorn ties according to Aaron Klein from ABC News. If you lov George Soros and Acorn, you’d love De Blasio…
This Di Blasio nebech case, went grovelling to race baiter Al Sharpton, yesterday. Yes, Di Blasio getting elected will be back to the days of ‘The Wild Wild West’ of the Dinkins era!
What a shame!
Why should I vote for the other guy?
