Dear COLlive readers:
I know it’s Erev Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, and there’s a lot to do.
But while most of us are trying to figure when to drop our Machzor off or if the Kreplech are cooked to perfection, my brother, sister in law and their 4 young children were evacuated from their home last night at 3 am.
Rabbi and Mrs. Yakov Dovid and Shayna Borenstien have been dedicating the past 7 years of their life to the Longmont, CO area as Shluchim of the Rebbe.
The Colorado area has been hit by terrible flooding… the Chabad house is under 6 feet of water and their home is being threatened. B”h the Sifrei Torah are safe and they were able to check into a hotel further West, where they plan to hold services.
The Shluchim face huge hurdles in the next few days, as well as in the coming months. The financial burden is overwhelming so say the least.
As Yom Kippur is tonight we ask that you please open your wallets and help out with whatever you can. The Zechus of your Tzedakah you should be inscribed in the book of life, a year overfilled with Bracha and health. We should only share good news. Gmar Chasisma Tova.
Signed,
A concerned brother
