8 Days For Overnight Glimpse

Nestled this past summer in the countryside of Southern Wisconsin was “Girls 8 Day Overnight,” a full-fledged overnight camping experience that is run and directed by Rabbi and Mrs. Schneur and Esther Scheiman of CGI Chicago.

The “girls” program is located at the B’nai Brith Beber campgrounds that boasts a fully equipped lake front, including a Rave water trampoline, Pontoons, Speedboats, Canoes, Kayaks, and Paddle-boards. Swimming is in the state-of-the-art outdoor pool. The bunk rooms are relatively new and in great condition.

Between low ropes, team building exercises, archery, biking, sports, swimming, boating and general adventure, the campers have an incredible time fusing the best of gashmius/camping in a warm, caring and Chassidishe environment.

The vast majority of the campers are from the greater Chicago and greater Milwaukee areas. This summer a camper traveled from New York to join the program.

8 Day Overnight is a wonderful “first taste” of overnight camp for the child who needs a safe and nurturing “bite size” program as an introduction to the full 4-8 week camp program. The price reflects the length of the camp and that is a huge factor nowadays.

The staff are handpicked and truly superb at running a program that raises all participants to greater levels of Ahavas HaShem, Yiras HaShem and all with the highest standards of Chassidishkeit.

This was our second summer on the camp grounds as visiting directors. It is astounding to see the immediate impact the program has on the campers from all backgrounds. The Scheimans are top of the line and their Head staff and staff are second to none.

Imagine the best of a 4-8 week overnight camp packed into 8 days! The learning, Davening, singing and activities are all planned out almost to the minute and it is remarkable to witness the transformative growth that takes place in “just 8 days”.

Looking ahead to summer 5774, you may do very well by sending your daughter to the Girls 8 day overnight program. Rabbi and Mrs. Scheiman are gentle and caring and you can be sure it will be a positive experience on all fronts.
