The State of Israel is not taking any chances ever since the terror attack in the Chabad House in Mumbai, India, where eight Jewish people were killed.
Armed Israeli watchman will guard the public Pesach Seders Chabad holds in southern India and in Nepal, according to a report in Israel’s daily Maariv.
They will also secure the Seders in the six Chabad Houses in Thailand. Thousands of Israeli and Jewish backpackers come to Chabad for the holiday and Israel is afraid of them being a terrorist target.
Maariv reports that a closed meeting was held a month ago in the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem with the government secretary, representatives of the Foreign Ministry, Chabad and other organizations.
The war in Gaza and the rise in anti-semitism in the world reinforced the concern that terror groups might attempt a hit on Jews in the Diaspora.
But a source in Lubavitch World headquarters in Brooklyn, NY, told COLlive: “This won’t be the first year that Israeli security services are involved in the Seders in the Far East.”
I wan’t to know why we should not be involved with israel or any other country?!
