Menachem Mendel Mondshine, oldest son of the shluchim Rabbi Levi and Chana Mondshine just celebrated his bar mitzva, preceded by a shabbos full of inspiration and celebration.
Among the out-of-town guests who came to celebrate were the Bar mitzva Boy's grandfathers Rabbi Yehoshua Mondshine and Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Itkin.
During the shabbos farbrengens 8 community members, inspired by Rabbi Yochanan Gurary, Chief Rabbi of Cholon, took upon themselves to lay tfillin daily. Friends and family from all over the world joined as well.
The Bar Mitzva celebration took place on Sunday at the Beis Malkin Smolensk JCC. Many members of the community experienced a bar mitzva for the first time in their lives.
Aside from saying the maamer, Menachem Mendel impressed the crowd with his violin performance. The Divrei Torah and the lebedige dancing left an indelible impression on all who were there.
