JLI press release
230 shluchim across the globe will be offering a powerful program this Tisha B’Av, featuring an inspirational session of film, study and personal reflection about finding faith in difficult times.
Titled Triumph of Hope: Personal Recollections of Faith Amidst the Horrors of the Holocaust, the program will offer a new, fascinating 25-minute, emotionally-gripping documentary film.
The film features holocaust survivors recounting their memories of increased faith, resilience and strengthened Jewish identity during moments of agony and horror.
Following the film, participants will study a new lesson from JLI on the topic of faith with especially published textbooks and visual aids.
Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, Director of Chabad’s thriving community of Flamingo in Toronto who directed the film production and teamed up with JLI for this project said, “The film weaves together holocaust survivors personal recollections, fascinating stories and sentiments, along with a rare video clip of the Rebbe speaking about the Holocaust”.
JLI released “Triumph of Hope” last week and to date hundreds of Chabad Centers have signed up to offer this uplifting and inspiring program on Tisha B’Av. Participating shluchim are provided with a DVD, Teacher’s Manual, Student Textbooks, PowerPoint presentation and marketing materials to promote the program.

Personally, I find it hard to read Holocaust stories; when you think you have read, or heard the “worst” one, there is another…. Rachmana Litzlan. On Tisha B’Av it is inkeeping with the thoughts and feelings of the day to refer… Read more »
Special message from surivvor, ZT”L (niftar 2000). This Holocaust survivor was among thousands inteviewed, in 1995, by employees of Steven Spielberg to relate their horrific experience. Here is what she said about Holocaust memorials. “We need Holocaust memorials. Our true Holocaust memorials are our children. The children, they are the proof as long as there is Torah and Yeshivas to guide us, no enemy of the Jews will ever succeed to annihilate us. These children, later adults, and their children are our witnesses that we are an eternal people, just as our Torah teaches us. They remember the Holocaust, as… Read more »

You are so talented. Thank you.
