The Merkos Chinuch Office has announced the schedule for this year’s On-Line Webinar Series. the twin educational conferences for men and women respectively, have been an educational staple for hundreds of Chabad mechanchim and mechanchos.
This year in lieu of the summer Chinuch Kinusim, the Chinuch Office has organized a series of on-line Chinuch presentations, in Webinar form. The Webinars will feature lectures presented by outstanding educators and will enable hundreds of educators from across the globe to join, watch, listen and learn. They will also facilitate interactive exchanges and live chats so that participants will have the opportunity to question and engage the presenters.
The Webinar series will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays, starting Wednesday the 17th of menachem Av, July 24th ending Wednesday, the 8th of Elul, August 14th. Each day two one-hour lectures will be offered.
Dr. Rochelle Green, the outstanding educational thinker former dean of the Fischler Graduate school of Education, of Nova Southeastern University will present of all four Wednesdays. She will concentrate on a practical classroom management scheme which Mechanchim and mechanchos will find is fully adaptable to a yeshiva/day school setting.
Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, director of the Merkos Chinuch Office, who has teaching the educational magnum opus of the previous Lubavitcher Rebbes, Kl’alei Chinuch V’haHadracha, for decades, will present a two part presentation on that theme.
Rabbi Levi Eisenberg, MsEd, a Mechanech at Cheder Menachem in Los Angeles, will present a unique approach to lesson planning and execution which will be both creative and practical. His presentation, called: From Planning to Assessment; a teachers review of what lesson planning should be, will be eye opening to many.
Rabbi Naphtali Hoff, former head of school of Torah Day School, Atlanta GA, and currently an educational consultant with Brienze Educational Advantage, will present on a subject many practice but few master, The Art of Oral Testing or how to develop the essential skills to be able to test orally and get a full, focused understanding of student progress. He will focus on how to achieve student Involvement in the process so that the results are meaningful.
“While we will not be able to recreate the electrifying atmosphere of a Kinus, the webinars will allow many mechanchim and mechanchos to join, learn and ultimately maximize their professional know-how and thus benefit their students,” Rabbi Nochem Kaplan said.
