Rabbi David Stav, running for the position of Chief Rabbi of Israel, went to the Rebbe's Ohel after landing in New York.

Leading candidate for the position of Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi David Shlomo Stav Shlita landed in New York last night for a short visit and went directly from the airport to the Ohel in Queens.

Rabbi Stav was warmly greeted by Rabbi Abba Refson, director of the Chabad House at the Ohel, accompanied by renowned lecturer and author Rabbi Simon Jacobson. After a short study of Chassidus and writing a Pa"N, Rabbi Stav, who is currently in the midst of a tumultuous election campaign, entered the sacred Ohel where he prayed for his success and the success and salvation of Israel.

The visit was organized by a personal friend, Rabbi Yoel Kaplan, the Rebbe's emissary to the Balkans and with the help of Bentzi Sasson.

Wants to close yeshivos, with the same people being lochem against metzitza bpeh
He's running on a platform of forcing the general frum rabbis to conform to his changes, draft full time yeshiva students, including successful ones - at a time when Eretz Yisroel has been saved by miracles in the zechus of lomdei Torah and his big supporters are Yossi Lapid and people like Herschel Schachter who are being lochem against metzitza bpeh, R"L. He wants to force his opinions on very learned rabbonim who disagree.
