Chabad @ the Beaches, a synagogue and Jewish organization serving Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and Mayport in Florida, was busy at print this week.
But it wasn’t invitations for its 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Auction to take place this coming Sunday.
Instead, Shluchim Rabbi Nochum Kurinsky and Rabbi Eli Wilansky have printed an edition of the holy Tanya, the central text of Chabad Chassidism, written by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of Chabad, and first published in 1797.
They joined many other cities and spots that have done the same to purify the world with the wellsprings of Chassidus.
The project of printing “Beaches Tanya” began earlier in the year, on the 24th of Teves, the yartzeit of the Alter Rebbe. It was done with the help Rabbi Sholom Jacobson of New York, Mr. Steven Hunt, Mr. Alexander Motorca and a local binder.
Rabbi Kurinsky said he plans on distributing the newly printed edition at the upcoming dinner celebration which will be held on Sunday, June 2 at 4:30 pm.
He invited the wider public to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win entrance to Master’s Tournament, a vacations to the Bahamas, as well as jewelry, cameras, Apple devices and tickets to Universal Studios and Disney.
