Taking the lesson of “ish echad blev echad,” bringing the action of Ahavas Yisrael to reality, the students of Lubavitch Yeshiva of Ocean Parkway took part in a special project to help each other, and the recipient of the kindness reported the act.
As a reward, in conjunction with the Shmuel Shrage Middos Program, the school teamed up with NYC’s South Street Seaport Museum to provide a fun-filled, hands-on educational experience aboard the historic schooner vessel “Pioneer,” built in 1885.
The program began with a safety talk before the boat left the dock By Captain R. Dorfman, and students helped to raise sail, worked the lines and helped identify navigational hazards and many other necessities aboard a working Tallship.
While sailing, the students formed small groups to rotate through various learning stations.
We would like to thank Mrs. Adi for her pictures and expert photography skill to capture the excitement aboard Tallship Pioneer.
