Now in its fifth year — Bais Toras Menachem of Los Angeles recently tested 11 students on Bassar B’cholov, an integral element of the academic requirements for rabbinic ordination. The students were tested by Rabbi Elchonen Tauber, Dayan and Rov of Congregation Beis Yehuda in Los Angeles.
Taught by the phenomenal Maggid Shiur Rabbi Levi Chazan, the students spent several months of intense study to prepare for this important test. Rabbi Tauber was quite impressed with the comprehensive knowledge and profound depth exhibited by the students.
Having completed the first segment of Smicha, students from Bais Toras Menachem will begin Melicha with enhanced ardor after their break for Pesach.
After the test, the students were treated out to dinner at Schnitzly Restaurant, courtesy of Yackov Brennenson.
Founded by the visionary Rabbi Mordechai and Rivky Katz and currently under the helm of the M’nahel Rabbi Levi Bennish, Bais Toras Menachem aims to provide a balanced and wholesome educational and social curriculum. In addition to the traditional classes in Chassidus, Gemara, and Halacha — Bais Toras Menachem offers classes in GED preparation, advanced algebra, martial arts, web design, and computer science.
In addition to their studies in Los Angeles, Bais Toras Menachem engages students in a wide-range of extra-curricular activities, such as Farbrengens, barbeques, Shabbatons, and outings. Furthermore, students are actively involved in assisting the community and local Shluchim with a variety of activities.

is BTM and YO NATAN going to perform MOSHIACH NOW for JEWISH STAR????????????
How refreshing it is to see what the result is when bachurim are treated with respect and dignity and given a chance to be successful; they seem very loved and cared for, and that creates a health foundation for all of Yiddishkeit…Kol hakovod!
mazal tov! best bochur in manchester!
best bochur there!
This sounds like such an important program very needed in Lubavitch…there are many bachurim who fit this type of ‘middle of the way’ category and they deserve a chance to shine and learn Smicha while getting a start on their career life…hopefully many more mosdos will be opened like it. Hatzlacha Rabbah U’muflaga to the staff to continue their important work…
BTM has the most amazing staff; Rabbi Levi Chazan is so lebedik and enthusiastic , he gets us all into the learning, Levi is the best M’nahel you can imagine…warm dedicated and always looking out for us to be comfortable on every level, the Katz’s open their home to us for lunch every day, computer classes etc. they make us feel part of their family! El choyil ….
OMG Yonatan!!!! The best Jewish music artist!!!
I love your Moshiach now video!!!
It is wonderful that a Yeshivah such as BTM exists. There are many capable, talented, and intelligent bochurim that can accomplish great things if given the chance. Yeshivahs such as BTM should receive our support. Kol Hakovod to the founders and staff.
Yasher Koach to the wonderful hanhala and to its unique students, you our a pride to our LA community in terms of what can be achieved when there is a will…”Ein davar ha’omed b’fnei harotzon”…Keep up the great work!!! We need more programs like this to meet the individual needs of each bachur….
BTM is not the same as Jets, though they are both out to help the Rebbe’s kinder; from what I understand, Jets is primarily a Jewish Trade School with Yeshiva ciriculum available; Katz Smicha program is primarily a Yeshiva offering some vocational options. Each aim to cater to their students in the best way possible, which is surely giving much nachas to the Rebbe. Hatzlacha Rabbah to them both!
I’m in awe of you!
Keepin it real from Manchester UK!
Great job! Keep it up!!!
