The Jewish Recovery Center in Boca Raton, which assists individuals and families struggling with, or affected by addiction, is getting preparing to host its Second Annual Retreat and Shabbaton.
Located in Florida’s Palm Beach County, the center is located within the largest concentration of addiction rehabilitation-treatment centers in the world.
“This retreat provides the recovery community an opportunity to recharge and revitalize their spiritual batteries,” says Shliach Rabbi Meir Kessler, director of the center and organizer of the weekend.
“We are always looking for ways to help strengthen those battling addiction and face the daily struggle,” said Kessler who established the center 6 years ago.
“We thought that there ought to be one time a year when the recovery community can come together for a celebration in the Joy of Recovery and sobriety.”
The theme of the 2013 retreat is “Happy Joyous & Free.” It will be held on the weekend of February 8-10, 2013 (28-30 Shvat 5773) at the Marriott Town Center in Boca Raton.
At last year’s inaugural retreat, renowned expert Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski and acclaimed orator Rabbi YY Jacobson, along with therapists and addiction professionals specializing in recovery, turned the weekend into an unforgettable experience for the 150 participants.
