A new clip of the Rebbe speaking in a private audience with supporters of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim has been released ahead of the Alter Rebbe’s 200th yahrzeit, this Sunday, 24 Teves.
The recording is included in a special new DVD by JEM, the Chabad media organization, marking this special date.
Rabbi Sholom Yisroel Hodakov, son of the late Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Hodakov, the Rebbe’s chief of staff, has provided access to the unique Yechidus recording in honor of this milestone.
Fifty years ago in 5723 –marking 150 years from the passing of the Alter Rebbe– the Rebbe urged chassidim to mark the auspicious year by adding in Torah studies and tzedaka.
Time and again throughout that year, the Rebbe discussed this idea, requesting that each and every chossid add in their own way, and especially through studying, printing and disseminating the teachings of the Alter Rebbe, founder of Chabad-Lubavitch chassidism.
JEM’s special new DVD features a compilation of stories, sichos, niggunim and moments with the Rebbe, related to the Alter Rebbe – “with the hope that it will serve as an impetus to mark this momentous occasion through increased action in the Alter Rebbe’s ways.”
