Bielsky Talks Heroism At Aliya

Zvi Bielsky, son of the famous partisan warrior Zus Bielsky, had Aliya members glued to their seats this past Thursday night.

The evening began with the division and completion of the entire Tehillim by Aliya members for our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel.

Bielsky, whose father has been depicted in the film “Defiance,” shared the courageous stories that he heard first-hand from his father and his uncles.

These men fought the Germans and Russians with their bare hands to save 1,200 Jewish lives. BH, these 1,200 souls are now well over 20,000!

It was extremely uplifting to hear these amazing stories about the mesiras nefesh the Partisans had, not only to survive but also to save thousands of others. The intrigued audience asked many questions and Mr. Bielsky was happy to answer each one thoroughly. Mr. Bielsky noted that he loved the energy and the crowd at Aliya.

He mentioned that he had been brought out to speak at a mansion in New Jersey last week but enjoyed himself much more hanging out with the Aliya guys. It was truly an inspirational night and no one will forget that the Rebbe’s day of recovery was when they heard a first-hand experience about Mersiras Nefesh.

After Mr. Bielsky left the farbrengen continued and Rabbi Shemtov shared his memories of the year when the Rebbe came home.

He quoted the Rebetzin saying that seeing the Chassidim rejoice over her husband’s recovery was reminiscent of the joy of the Chassidim when her father the Rebbe Rayatz came out of prison in 1927.
