In honor of the 200th yahrzeit of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, a new commentary on his monumental chassidic work, the Tanya, is being prepared.
The comprehensive compilation on Tanya will be culminating a project the Lubavitcher Rebbe invested many years of labor, it was announced at the 5773 Kinus Hashluchim.
A team of Chabad scholars based in Brooklyn, NY, will be preparing the Rebbe’s never-before-published Reshimos notes on Tanya over the next 2 years.
The project is being funded in memory of legendary Jewish philanthropist Sami Rohr OBM, who took a keen interest in both the Tanya and Hayom Yom, the daily spiritual-inspirational messages the Rebbe compiled.
Rohr’s 3 children, George Rohr of New York, and Evelyn Katz and Lillian Tabacinic of Bal Harbour, Florida, will be taking a trip this coming month to Ukraine to honor their father.
As reported on COLlive.com, Sami Rohr has been funding the building of a visitors center in the city of Haditch to greet those who come to the tzyun gravesite of the Alter Rebbe.
