Obama Wins Second Term

Barack Obama was re-elected as president on Tuesday, the television networks projected, defeating Mitt Romney after a long, hard-fought campaign that centered on who would heal the battered economy and on what role government should play in the 21st century.
The president’s official Twitter account quickly posted: “This happened because of you. Thank you.”
CBS News, CNN, Fox News and NBC News all projected that Mr. Obama would defeat Mr. Romney after concluding that he would win the necessary 270 electoral votes.
Mr. Obama carried New Hampshire and Pennsylvania and was projected by television networks to win Wisconsin, three states Mr. Romney had pursued to block Mr. Obama’s re-election.
As a succession of states fell away from Mr. Romney, a hush fell over his Boston headquarters. Advisers sounded uncharacteristically pessimistic about what they acknowledged were dwindling chances of winning an Electoral College majority.
The mood at the Obama campaign in Chicago was optimistic as the outcome of the hard-fought presidential race was dependent on Mr. Romney’s running the table in the rest of the competitive battleground states.
Americans delivered a final judgment on a long and bitter campaign that drew so many people to the polls that several key states extended voting for hours. In Virginia and Florida, long lines stretched from polling places, with the Obama campaign sending text messages to supporters in those areas, saying: “You can still vote.”
The state-by-state pursuit of the 270 electoral votes was being closely tracked by both campaigns, with Mr. Romney winning North Carolina and Indiana, which Mr. Obama carried four years ago. But Mr. Obama won Michigan, the state where Mr. Romney was born, and Minnesota, a pair of states that Republican groups had spent millions of dollars trying to make competitive.
The contests were hanging on the outcome of only a few key counties in the battleground states. In Florida, for example, the two candidates were separated by only thousands of votes out of more than six million ballots cast, with nearly 90 percent of precincts reporting.

A) America will experience a revolution in which it returns to the old work ethic rather than worshiping athletes, actors, and others whose IQ and moral level are between the gutter and the sewer. Obama and his supporters will become a laughingstock long before the end of term 2, and the left will not get in again for 10 terms.

In 4 years, America will be like any socialist European country - great if you're on welfare or want to work as little as possible, but no place to get ahead. Someone like Nancy Pelosi will follow Obama, and the talented immigrants from Asia who run American hi-tech will stay home and work there, so America will become irrelevant.

Please, The only think good about Romney is that he is "good" for Israel. (in quotes, because really what is he going to do). Otherwise, that guy is made for the rich people. The facts speak for themselves:
1. The Rebbe never spoke about making an effort to vote for a Republican president for the sake of Israel. The Rebbe spoke about the government of ISRAEL protecting their own country. Israel's problems have always been, and continue to be the fault of their own government.
2. If you think that Republican candidates are better for Israel, compare the Bush and Obama/Clinton years. During Bush, the Intifada broke out with non-stop terrorist attacks and suicide bombs spanning 2001-2006, and Bush did absolutely NOTHING about it, other than pressure Israel to make more and more concessions. And, Gaza was given away during the Bush years. But you know what Bush did do? he attacked Iraq!
I should also make an honorable mention that the republican Richard Nixon was a rabid anti-semite, (and still had Israel's back during the YK war.)
And don't bring up the nuclear Iran situation, because as Romney has said himself in the third presidential debate, he will not do much different than what Obama is doing. There is evidence that Iran is starting to cave under pressure, and even if not, you can rest assured that should Israel fight them, Obama WILL have Israel's back. Mark my words.

When Obama won in '08, everybody blamed it on the hype of Hope and Change, and that "America went crazy". The fact is, Obama ran a more serious campaign this time, he campaigned in half-empty arenas and still won the election. The people made a calculated vote for him.

Unfortunately, the willful misinformation propaganda campaign against Obama and the Democrats is not grounded in reality, but in irrational fear, hatred, and self-loathing.
If Crown Heights-ers had a modicum of honesty, they would acknowledge that Israel is not worse off today then it was four years ago, that this community is on the receiving, not giving end of the welfare state, and that no president could have arbitrarily cut 1.3 trillion dollars out of the structural budget they inherited.

You (purposely?) avoided one main issue on the Israel front: The Oslo Accords.
Clinton pressured Israel relentlessly and they caved. It is the aftermath of Oslo that caused the string of endless suicide bombings. Clinton was a disaster for Israel.
But aside from Israel, there are other issues on the table: The Democratic party has become vehemently anti-God, taking mention of the Almighty and Jerusalem as the capital, out of their playbook. They are advocating alternative lifestyles, unrestrained feel-good behavior, abdication of personal responsibility, and a complete break down of the basic tenets of morality in our society.
So, this is not only about Israel: at the end of the day, Israel does has to be strong and look out for itself, because every American gov't, no matter how benevolent, does NOT have Israel's back.
The issue here also is our responsibility to help build and maintain a moral society and a strong America. The unions and their trolls control the Democratic party and they are wreaking havoc on American productiveness and success. They are behind the destruction of Agriprocessors and they are the reason that there is such a slow return to normalcy after the hurricane.
Obama is a brilliant manipulator, and his court Jew, Axelrod, is even more brilliant. He won because he had good tactics, and is highly charismatic, not because Americans made any calculated choices. Americans are pretty dumb. The problem is, America is becoming dumber and dumber, and will end up like Europe. As an aside, throwing the race card (in yiddish, noch!) is beneath contempt. Give us a shtikel credit, Chochom.
The fact is, that America has changed to a greedy, self-serving society, with a do-it-if-feels-good mentality. This election is a reflection of that.

Americans are "dumb" when they vote for Obama, but the exact same people are just brilliant when they vote (twice) for a war mongering play-cowboy who turned a budget surplus into a $1.3 trillion dollar deficit.
You ought to consider revisiting your hysterical rhetoric in four years from now. In 1996, when Clinton won reelection, Republicans were making the exact same hyperbolic claims and using almost the exact same rhetoric (We've lost the shining city on the hill, American exceptionalism is over, we are in decline), only to be followed by the greatest boom time in my lifetime.
At the very minimum, come up with some new material. If we wanted to hear the same old rehashed talking-points about America in decline, we could just tune in to "moralist" Limbaugh.

Why do you not address any of the points of America in moral decay? Why do you not address the issue of the Oslo accords? Is a feel-good-do-it America, good for America, let alone for the world? America used to be a light unto the nations, with faith in God, proclaimed even on the dollar bill itself. It was an example of hard work and investment in family and community. This is quickly slipping away. Obama engaged in a relentless class warfare, which is simply despicable. I am not wealthy; far from it, I am part of the working class. But I am buoyed by stories of achievement and success: I certainly do not resent it.
For the record, I detest Rush Limbaugh, I cannot stand to listen to him and I thought that GW Bush was a colossal failure and joke; the guy could not even speak English properly. I am not a Republican and do not carry the water for the Republicans. This is about ideas - not teams. If Obama carried ideas that would further the interests of America and its people and its allies such as Israel, I would be the first to support him. But he does not. He is in the process of creating a legacy for himself, and the interim is creating a huge social experiment on the USA. Unfortunately, these have been tried and tested in Europe. Canada experienced a similar phase during the Trudeau years ( in the 70's), "Trudea mania" they called it then; they are still recovering. Canada is pulling away from socialized medicine, because it is a colossal failure. Everyone gets the same mediocre treatment, unless you can afford to get first class treatment in the US. It can take up to 6 months to get an MRI and months of waiting to get a specialist to look at a patient, let alone do surgery.
America will pay dearly for this, but not now. It will take 20, 30 years for the damage to become apparent, as it has in Greece, Spain and the rest of the European continent.
Why is Moscow celebrating Obama's victory? These are not our friends. Why are the radicals in Europe celebrating it? Why has the stock market plunged today? When your enemies rejoice in your choice of leader, that should make you pause.
Obama's rhetoric in this election was unprecedented in terms of its lows and vulgarity, and America was sullied in the process. Romney was a moderate, but above all, he was an example of class and decency. He will be the great president America never had, to its great detriment.
The Oslo accords began in Madrid in 1991 during Bush Senior's administration. Clinton finished what Bush Started.
But that is irrelevant. Saying that the intifada that began in 2001 is a direct result of the Oslo accords in 1993 is ludicrous. It may have contributed to it, but a lot happened in what was almost a decade.
Now, on to the next thing:
The Democratic party is "left of center". There are a vast amount of Liberals in the Democratic party, thus the booing of G-D that you heard during their convention. For the record, the people booing were the low level DELEGATES, not any high elected Democratic officials.
The Liberals themselves say that they don't agree with the policies of the Democratic party, but they affiliate with them because they are the "lesser of two evils" (in their opinion).
To put things in perspective: The Liberals in the Democratic party are the equivalent of the Tzfatim in the Meshichist party. The Meshichist party does not believe in wearing yellow pins and making a shvil, but nor do they stop the extremists from doing so, because at the end of the day, it is the extremists who are the most vocal and powerful element of their party. (Just like the ultra conservatives are to the Republicans).
The Democratic party has accepted same gender marriage as much as mainstream Meshichists have accepted the yellow pins. They don't advocate it, but nor are they vocally against it, and, as a result must accept it. (Because, after all, the Democrats do preach "equality and acceptance")
I am not sure why the abortion issue should bother you or anyone. I actually wonder if abortion in the first two trimesters for a gentile is part of the Sheva Mitzvos B'nei Noach. If not, it should not bother you at all.
For the record, the Conservative stance on abortion, the use of birth control, and stem cell research is entirely not in line with Halacha. Halacha is way more lenient on these issues than they are.
But once again, this is all irrelevant. The Torah never talks about a gentile government being the "morality police". Yonah didn't tell the king of Ninveh to force his people to be moral, he spoke directly to the people. If you want morality in this country, then Jews are to be a moral compass for all humanity. Unfortuntely, Jews are doing the opposite of that. [Although, proudly, Chabad is indeed being a moral compass!] How are gentiles to know about the Sheva Mitzvos if we don't teach it to them, and if we don't teach them by example?
As for Obama being a manipulator:
Maybe you can get away with saying that in 2008. In the 2012 campaign, Obama's rallies were half empty, and Romney's were overflowing with historic proportions, thus giving the Republicans the impression that they had this election in their pocket. Much to the Republican's (And my own) dismay, voters turned out in record numbers to vote for Obama, outshining the record numbers that came to vote for Romney.
The voters who cast their ballots for Obama did so without any commotion as they did in 2008. Many of them, most notably Independents, gave careful thought to the two candidates, and made the choice to vote for Obama.

i don't agree with since you make it sound as if Obama is more pro-Israel than the other presidents you mention. This is clearly not the case. He has tried to implement policies - like the Buiding Freeze and the going back to the 1949 lines - which if successful would have put the majority of the Israeli population in danger H"Y.

It is one thing not to believe in moral policing, but quite another to stand by as immorality as we understand it, is not only advocated, but celebrated. It is convenient to say that this is the fringe, but the facts on the ground say otherwise. America is changing and not for the better.
Romney's large family was ridiculed over and over again in the media, as was his wife for being a stay-at-home mom. They would have made a fine first family who would have taught the 7 mitzvahs by example.
Under Obama, America is turning towards European values. That continent has little to teach us, they are the seat of Jewish suffering for over a thousand years, a suffering that ended in the ultimate show of European values.
America was a single beacon of light in the sea of nations, and that light is diminishing and I am greatly saddened by it.
