At a Rosh Hashanah reception at his residence, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said “there is no daylight” between the United States and Israel when it comes to Iran, JTA reported.
Biden, in a short address before the reception Wednesday on the grounds of the Naval Observatory in northwest Washington, reaffirmed the Obama administration’s commitment to Israel’s security.
In his remarks, Biden singled out two of approximately 75 guests at the event which included top Jewish communal officials.
“I see this guy all the time, but it’s honor to have you here in our home,” Biden publicly told Rabbi Abraham Shemtov about his son Rabbi Levi Shemtov.
The senior Rabbi Shemtov is Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad International and the Rebbe’s Shliach to the White House. His son is the Shliach in Washington, DC and Executive Vice President of American Friends of Lubavitch.
Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden have warmly received the two Chabad rabbis which they know from their home state of Delaware, a neighbor of Philadelphia where they hail.
According to a report on Twitter, Biden said that “Both our nations are intently focused on the threat of Iran” and “there is no daylight” between the United States and Israel.
During the photo session, the Vice President turned aside to speak privately for a moment with both Rabbi Shemtovs, and was then overheard wishing Rabbi Levi Shemtov Mazel Tov on the upcoming bar Mitzvah of his son, Eli.

what an unbelievable and inspiring story, WOW!
Is this your Democrat Party?
A PARTY THAT NEGOTIATES FOR THE PALESTINEANS ?
Obama’s “pro-Israel” fact list may satisfy some, BUT … nothing can change the fact that Obama’s 2012 Democrat platform clearly revealed his agenda of
• appeasing the Arab world and
• abandoning his “unbreakable bond with Israel”.
Did his father like the Rabbis too?
you know he was in Minneapolis today?
and I don’t trust the democRATS in general.
A Gut Yohr Far Alleh Yiddin!
