A Tzadik in Tzedaka
August 6, 2012 4:46 am

Baruch Dayan Haemes. Hamakom yenachem eschem b’soch shaar aveilei tzion v’Yerushalayim. The world has lost one of its most giving persons who was also a warm personality who had a smile for everybody. I knew him from the Shul of Bal Harbour and I always admired the fact that he sat on the side with his son George on one side and his son in law Dr Katz on the other. They obviously were a very close knit family. He always greeted me (and most everyone else) with a warm handshake and a big smile. He will be sorely missed.

As a Shliach in a far flung corner of the world who’s Kehillah has benefited directly and significantly by the generousity of Reb Shmuel and his family, we mourn the loss of this amazing mentch among mentchen! Although we were not zoche to meet him personally, his humble yet powerful speech at the Kinnus was truly uplifting and provided us a glimpse into the personality of this remarkable individual. May his family be comforted and may we all be zoche to Moshiach NOW!

Mr. Sam Rohr, A”H, was a true Tzadik in so many ways. I am heartbroken for his loving family & for his extended family, the Shluchim.
May Klal Yisrael & indeed his dear family, be comforted by the vast legacy he’s left behind.
A Shlucha who has benefitted from his generousity & concern.

August 6, 2012 12:15 am

Sammy was the ultimate mentch. He treated everyone with respect and kindness. Despite his wealth he never came across as arrogant or demeaning but had a kind word for everyone. He rose above politics was so honest and straight. He was an example to all jews – chabad, shluchim, yeshivish, orthodox, non orthodox – any person. There are few left like him in the world. His presence will be sorely missed.
