At a time when the charedi lifestyle is being demonized in the media, one company is choosing to identify with, and celebrate the role of, the Jewish mother.
Wissotzky Tea, the leading producer and exporter of tea in Israel, has launched a commercוal video titled “A Tribute to the Jewish Mother.”
The minute and a half clip on YouTube has already received over 13,000 views.
“The video has touched the heartstrings of many Jewish people,” says David Cohen, Director of Global Markets for Wissotsky.
“The role of the Jewish mother is many times unappreciated. They are the unsung heroes who dedicate their entire life to bring up a family and ensuring the continuity of the Jewish nation.”
Cohen said the Wissotzky company felt “privileged to recognize the contribution and role of the Jewish mother. This was our way of saying thank you and keep it up.”
VIDEO:
Here’s to the Mother, an unsung hero. The woman who takes on challenges large and small, and still, brings it all together, making it happen.
Every day, you wear many hats and play many roles.
You’re a chef, a homemaker, a stylist, a chauffeur. A hard worker, a baker, a doctor, a nurse. You’re a fashion designer, a photographer.
You’re a spiritual force, and a revered role model. It is you alone who holds the key to your family’s heart and soul, and no one else can take your place.
Yours is the only occupation on earth that can’t be retired from, or taken leave from, or delegated to anybody else. Yet incredibly, you wouldn’t have it any other way.
And while you’d never want to take a break from being a mother, you deserve a break WHILE being one.
Tea time is me time. Enjoy your moment.

To number 5 and number 13 yes she looks like she can be on a catwalk and yes she’s a great actress but she’s also my REAL friend and a REAL frum mother who’s also a talented business woman and huge chesed activist….why are people so quick to make judgments without knowing anything based on ignorance and jealously???
As a child in the 80’s most frum mothers I saw looked frumpy. I think it’s wonderful how times have changed and the women are taking wonderful care of themselves.
now show a bad day 🙂
Yeap!! I agree… you had me laughing there real good… 🙂
Very refreshing!
its celebrating MOTHERHOOD not feminism
Haha that’s my friend from the 5 towns. Not even Lubavitch. But definitely a hard-working mother of 4, runs her own business and does ENDLESS chesed! And yes, she’s gorgeous too!
me too
I am buying Wisoztzky tea!
blog. held by a jewish frum mother. it tries exactly to do what everyone of us wants. to take away the prejudices against Jewish ortohodox women…
to #5…this is a realistic portrayal….We do this and more…and dress well and look great…proud to be a Lubavitcher mom!!!!!
b”h
who is talking about tznius.
if ur a mother then u know that babys and children, can make ur clothes dirty once in a while (…) if YOU are the one that is taking care of them (holding, nursing, or just playing with). so you wouldnt wanna wear your gorgeous dresses… unless u wanna send them to cleaners evey nite. that is all.
and about the b”h, i think its a known custom to write it on top of every page
I too am a mother of more than half a dozen bli ayin hara and while she does look like a model, all I can say is Kol hakovod that she can take such good care of herself as well. I know plenty of MOTHERS who look like her and cope with all that is mentioned here – and then some. All that this does is creates a huge kiddush Hashem. and tells the none observant world you can follow the Torah’s ways and still look great etc. Number 5, leave well enough alone and instead of being jealous try… Read more »
Love love love it!!! Nice to be appreciated
ha, i remember a classmate of mine once sent a persuasive essay to the mr. clean company suggesting a name switch to mrs. clean as that would be more accurate!
They need to do this in EY, in Ivrit – but they would not dare because we don’t watch TV and those who do would protest.
In English-speaking markets, only the frum and a few homesick ex-Israelis buy Wissotzky. They have cornered the market for Pesach teabags and they have a nice bit of the shelves in the haimishe shops.
To #13 what’s with your B”H just an actor. She is not acting , she is a mother and looks like many othe mothers around Crown height. She’s very tsnius. There’s nothing wrong with her. Do u have problem with frum women looking good. We should look look good and dress well. Why shouldn’t we?????????????????
Nice positive video! However, it doesn’t truly portray the ideal Chabad women. I would be a nice idea for someone to put together a nice video clip that can go viral of how a Chabad Shlucha is a leader in her community, she is a mentor to many in her community, she is Hebrew school principal, runs a full array of Jewish community programs, and so much more to her community. She does all the above miraculously while being just like the mother that is so well portrayed in this video posted here. I think a Chabad Shlucha women video… Read more »
with a touch of corniness at the end
so sweet ; atslaha to all jewish mums
elegent and tznius, hope it gets shown at times square and the like!
b”h
just an acting
Well said! I too am a working mother of 4 & I think it’s delightful to see such a pretty well dressed woman in the ad.
Why are you disappointed? As a busy mom of four, who also works, I appreciate this portrayal.
I, for one, am happy that for once the frum mother looks like what I may not look like every day, but at least try to look like some of the time.
I pride myself in looking my best, and stylish yet tznius. Why must the ‘jewish mother’ always be portrayed as frumpy and unstylish?
Apple – Think Different – Here’s to the Crazy Ones 1997
leave it to beaver with fashionable clothes….don’t our women do way more than cook and mother? we are teachers, we have community roles in chesed, have jobs, protest in the golan, etc…..
way to stereotypical
This is smart advertising. Who does the shopping? Mothers. Make her feel good about herself and she’ll buy your tea.
To # 5. why is it that it can’t be appreciated for what it is?
Do we always have to receive negative feedback?
Even if we do have freedom of speech, let’s use it for positivity. Much more beneficial and healthier.
Nice to be appreciated!
This commercial has good intentions – praising the Jewish mother – but I’m disappointed that the chosen mother here looks more like she belongs on a catwalk than in the kitchen. I for one would have appreciated a bit more of a realistic portrayal — including some sibling pushes or a kid making ‘art’ on the wall with permanent markers.
really nice
I wish I could be a mother its so rewarding and uplifting (too bad im a dad instead)
wow i never new how much women do!!
Her shaitel is not normally natural
