A few months ago, the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC) hired a marketing consultant to rebrand the government funded social service agency to better communicate its programs to residents.
A burglary at their offices on Friday won’t help those efforts.
8 flat screens, several computers and a printer were stolen in the early morning hours from their offices centrally located at 387 Kingston Avenue.
Police are said to be examining video surveillance from the offices and nearby cameras hoping to find leads.
But even if they do provide some clue as to who robbed the offices, it won’t help with returning the information on the computers which might include personal information of residents who benefit from CHJCC’s various grant programs.
“All essential data is backed up off site,” said Eli Cohen, Executive Director of the community council (not to be confused with the elected Vaad Hakohol body).
He estimated that there was “no serious data loss” and will be checking on Monday, when the office resumes work, about possible personal data.
i work there and i didnt know untill now that it was robbed although the office did look different
Oy! Sorry to hear.
“Never a dull moment.”
If they have any brains, the community council, and Vaad, will give constant updates, as the investagation continues, otherwise they are just inviting people, to come up with their own theory’s, which won’t be very conductive, to their job of helping the community.
