Leaders of the Jewish and black communities in Crown Heights met this week with John L. Sampson, the Democratic Conference Chairman and Minority Leader of the New York State Senate.
He was hosted in the home of Chanina Sperlin, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council.
Sampson represents District 19 in the State Senate, which comprises Crown Heights, East Flatbush, as well as portions of Brownsville, Canarsie and Spring Creek Towers.
Over cold cuts and beverages, he listened to local elected officials, and communal leaders and activities about issues and concerns from safety to education.
Beautiful home!
What, particularly, did they discuss?
