A new poll shows Texas Governor Rick Perry leading the field of potential and confirmed Republican presidential candidates even before he officially throws his hat in the ring.
The IBOPE Zogby/Newsmax poll reveals that Perry received 55 percent of the vote when matched against former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, who receives 22 percent.
Perry signed a bill on Friday that will certainly find favor with many Jews.
It prevents restrictions against “displaying or affixing on the entry to the owner’s or resident’s dwelling one or more religious items the display of which is motivated by the owner’s or resident’s sincere religious belief.”
The bill was introduced after a Jewish couple in Houston were fined for displaying a mezuzah on the door frame of the condo they rented in the Heights.
This new Texas law will prohibit home owners’ associations from banning such religious objects, the Houston Chronicle reported.
“This bill is very much important,” said Rabbi Yosef Levertov, director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Austin. “Now people can keep this aspect of the Torah without any fear of interference from their neighbors.”
Similar laws are on the books in Illinois and Florida, both responses to mezuzah cases.

This guy is the last hope this country has
This guy is an Evangelical Preacher—not a presidential candidate to take seriously. I hope you are smart enough to see this.
Seems like the presidential race has become a homecoming popularity contest. This guy is uneducated and doesn’t seem like a serious enough person to be a leader. He has what the people who voted in Obama like, and I am truly unimpressed with yet another phoney who knows exactly what to say to win. Americans don’t seem that bright, and even desperate to go along with anyone who tells them what they want to hear. Copy-cat of Donald Trump style and rather disingenuine if you look really close at what and how he speaks.
I have a recollection of Rick Perry being lenient on closing the border, is my memory accurate? He signed into law a bill that allows illegal immigrants to attend Texas colleges at in-state tuition rates.
Texans are the most patriotic Americans in the country. They call a spade a spade and they’re not afraid of using the “T” word.
The governor said: “They helped build a nation like non other that has ever been.”
I’ve heard this before on talk radio (I call to discuss ‘The 7 Noahide Laws.’).
Of course it’s a lie…’butter up their egos.’
The Nation of Israel is the greatest nation that ever, and still, exists. Shlomo HaMelech’s kingdom had 40 years of peace.
All these politicians and politics is mentioned in the Chabad & Chassidic writings.
Something like a wagon wheel which pushes one portion of the dung to one side and the rest to the other…the political parties.
Without ‘The 7 Noahide Laws’ it will never be what we/they really need. This is not how Our Creator made us.
good for the jews!!
I agree with you!
how he starts off whoooehing
he thinks he is a head councelor
God Bless Gov. Rick Perry. He is a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people.
This guy is good, but might sound too much like Bush to get elected
all the texans ive met happen to bee the coolest people
My top pick would be Huckabee but he’s not running if he doesn’t change his mind then from the current group of assumed candidates non that have a chance of winning excite me if Perry is smart he will make sure to get a V-P that excites people
