It’s a great idea in theory, but the fact is that everybody wants to vote for the school they favor most. And why would any school want to back out? Think of it this way: Like this, every school that’s on there has a chance. It might be just a smidgen of a chance, but it’s a chance.

Win-Win

How about if each 5 schools go under the name for one school (so we only have 4 “title” schools in the running), and whichever school wins will split the pot with the other 4 schools running with it, each school getting 85 (approx) each. that way everybody gets a part, and everyone wins.

Supoort Yeshivas Achei Tmimim in Boston – also known as the New England Hebrew Academy. It’s my alma mater and it’s a great school, growing and serving the needs of many Shluchim and other community people in Boston, and run by the most dedicated Shluchim to the Rebbe that I know!! Everyone PLEASE vote for them -and as many others as you can vote for!! Every Lubavitch Mosad, run by dedicated Shluchim, who make so much sacrifice (and have so little personal money) deserves this break! Let’s make it happen!!!!!!!!!

If they win 1/2 million due to Facebook they will still be against Facebook! Because although the internet & Facebook have the power to do a lot of good such as helping a school with 1/2 a million dollars, the Internet & Facebook also have the power to do a lot of bad & harm. They choose the easy way out saying nobody should use facebook because it can compromise on your chassidishkeit, but they failed to pay attention to the fact that just about everybody already has facebook & it is just not something that you will be able… Read more »

WE ALSO HAVE ALOT OF VOTES BUT NOONE WILL WIN IF WE DONT ALL PUT OUR VOTES AROUND THE SAME FOUR

choose 4 schools
July 16, 2010 6:02 pm

we need to decide four schools and everyone votes for them. the schools should decide together that whichever schools win will devide the money evenly to all the chabad schools otherwise none of the chabad schools will win since each person can only vote for four schools. i hope someone will get their act together and organize it

LOGIC!
July 16, 2010 5:56 pm

Cheder Menachem Los Angeles already has 1,300 Votes. Why not everyone vote for them and have them win. Spreading the votes around 100 school is going to leave 100 schools with 100 votes (NO WINNERS). Why not vote for 10 schools with 10,000 votes and have a few winners?

Logic #2
July 16, 2010 5:44 pm

Once again. What is the point of everyone posting all of their school to vote for? Spreading all the votes is going to leave everyone with to little votes to win. Pick 10 schools and have everyone vote for them. Is there a point of having 100 schools with 100 votes and have no chance of winning? Take those 10,000 votes and put them into 10 school and now there is a realistic chance that a few Chabad school will win. Just think about it.

Making technology “assur” rarely works. Most people will find that in a modern world they will eventually need the internet. There are many great and ehrlicher Mechanchim who will tell you: Don’t assur it, just teach kids to make good choices. Of course you severely restrict access, but for a child to know that his parents helped his school by using facebook is simply teaching him what the Rebbe taught us: Use technology for kedusha.

Why dont we decide on 10 school and everyone vote for those. Spreading out all the votes is going to give each school less of a chance. Better have 10 schools win 500,000 then no schools win any. Need to put all the votes in 10 schools!

Confused
July 16, 2010 3:00 pm

I’m confused. I attended a number of lectures/workshops that discussed all dangers of joining facebook and how we need to ban our children from having accounts (even parents shouldn’t have to set an example) yet now those very schools, high schools and mesivtas are promoting people to vote for them. I realize the impact of such a grant but is it worth the price?
