A black bear has been spotted around Postville, in Allamakee County, visiting the Chabad Cheder school for boys.
Dave and Diane Lensing took this picture of the bear early this morning as it walked through their yard.
Black bears occasionally wander into Iowa from Minnesota and Wisconsin. The DNR says this is common in the summer because many young male bears are forced out of territories during mating season.
Maybe that’s why he was looking to pick up flowers on his way home.
