Out of towners
May 13, 2010 3:01 am

Any possibility for a review of the evening, for us out of towners please? Would be much appreciated…..

Man! So SILLLY!
May 12, 2010 7:31 pm

So silly!

Instead of this wonderful workshops and giving speeches how about when a guy or girls calls you picking up the phone, or returning the 10th message left to your young child at your home number?

How about giving some dignity to the people that want to do things in the “right” way and not make us feel like you are doing us a huge favor and we should beg you to set us up…?

How about doing what you should instead of a workshop?

I agree with number 3 ! can something be organized similar to this program?

Right One Is At Your Door
May 12, 2010 10:38 am

If bochurim of shidduch age would also be invited (in a manner acceptable al pi halacha)…the “right one” may be IN THE ROOM and hopefully easier find each other (with help of attending shadchanim).

Lo hamedrash ha’ikar – the drasha may be nice, but the ikar is tachlis!

cool
May 12, 2010 9:55 am

I’m not there yet….. Got like 10 more years. LOL.

Brilliant
May 12, 2010 9:49 am

Now how about one for the public? How can I benefit from this if I live in Texas?

Sounds good
May 12, 2010 7:52 am

Is there any way of incl those of us that don’t live in CH, or the US for that matter…..? We would really appreciate it….obviously not for this time, b/c it’s too late, but for the future…..

Joint session for guys and gals
May 12, 2010 7:49 am

That might help get some shidduchim going…

May 12, 2010 7:38 am

It’s just like it is after you get married, the wives are going to Shalom Bayis classes, and the husbands run away from it.

interesting statement...
May 12, 2010 7:19 am

“Boruch Hashem, since then, whoever has been involved in either arranging workshops or hosting them, has become a Kallah,” Zwiebel told COLlive.com.
yeah hopefully eventually.,…. this proves absolutely nothing…

May 12, 2010 7:18 am

can there PLEASE be a way to see it live?

#24 you hit it on the button!
May 12, 2010 7:05 am

If boys won’t come to workshops- then bring the workshops to them!
Could the yeshivas organize speakers to speak to the boys about shidduchim related things such as how to treat a girl on a date, what characteristics to look out for, how to deal with commitment issues etc…

Workshops in Yeshiva
May 12, 2010 5:23 am

Why don’t you organise workshops in Yeshiva, then it will be obligatory

bottem line
May 12, 2010 5:13 am

so we can see from all the coments that the boys and the girls need help to focos on what they really want. alot of girls dont know so are alot of boys. however the nature of girls is to make such events this is the way Hashem crated us. so now that the girls are making such a good event. this will wake up the boys from seeing what the girls are saying and taking it to hart.

I happen to be a 20 year old girl specifically looking for a 25+ year old guy. Although it’s a general statement, most men mature later than women. I have been looking for my bashert for a year now and have gone out with a variety of ages, and still prefer older 20’s. So to say that you’re hitting 25 and haven’t met a girl yet focused in life- maybe you’re looking in the wrong places. And maybe a lecture like this would be beneficial to you…? Just a suggestion. It’s also a general saying that girls are more “excited”… Read more »

Do YOU know what you want in life? Most of the single girls I’ve met definitely have their head on straight. A lot more than the guys do. I’m not saying the girls don’t need the right hadracha in shidduchim but the guys need it a lot more. Or at least as much as the girls are getting

May 12, 2010 4:26 am

Sorry I disagree, i’m hitting 25 and have yet to meet a girl focused in life.. so many girls out there dont know what they want in life

if you help organizing
May 12, 2010 4:20 am

something like for tu b’av or if you sponsor this or if you do that, you’ll find your bashert within the….month, half a year, year.
just try it and you’ll see.
you know WHAT you’ll see?
that it doesn’t help. you’ll be as single as you were before trying x, y and z. because if Hashem planned for you to be single and have only 2 kids (because you’ll be too old to have many more because you married when you were 38 r’l) than that’s what will be!

To my very cool very cool friends that are organizing this...
May 12, 2010 4:05 am

You guys are amazing for pulling through such a cool event!!! I hope everyone gains so much from this!!!

The Anavim Institute
May 12, 2010 3:31 am

actually, this is an event designed for achdus in the zechus of Sholom Mordechai and a very empowering approach that is actually relevant in all areas of life.

That won’t work….

…cause it makes too much sense and it’s straight and to the point.

Think out of the box
May 12, 2010 3:25 am

In the box: Make seminar after seminar, year after year with programs about how the current shiduch system will work for you.

Out of the box: Make programs where individuals can meet potential shidduchim on casual grounds so that they can be in control of their own destiny.

May 12, 2010 3:24 am

There you have it…directly said from a guy himself. The girls have been to every shidduch workshop, shadchan, meeting, and shiur that has to do with shidduchim. I don’t believe the girls need more help in finding their bashert. It’s the boys who need the advice and “help”. What would a guy in shidduchim need to attend one of these workshops? Maybe there should be another wokshop for mothers of boys in shidduchim. How can we get EVERYONE involved- girls, boys, parents, and shadchanim?

cant wait
May 12, 2010 1:35 am

i am really looking forward to join tonight.

who 2 who
May 12, 2010 1:23 am

Its a good thing that shadchanim are holding a workshop for girls – this way the girls might just teach them a thing or two…!

The Right Track
May 12, 2010 12:13 am

This sounds wonderful!
Is there anything you can do about Shadchanim whereby there is a better system for them to meet and catalogue girls and bochurim and boost the process. It is becoming harder and harder to work with the shadchanim who aren’t very helpful.
Thank You! Thank You!

From a Boy
May 11, 2010 8:49 pm

What you guys don’t understand is that the problem here isn’t the girls. They are not the ones who need the shidduch workshop (perhaps a chizuk workshop).

The boys need the help here. And you will never get them to come to anything remotely titled “shidduch workshop”. Like it or not, we boys have a sense of entitlement that we will get our shidduch without “help”.

Hayetachen!?
May 11, 2010 8:23 pm

They have it for the girls…..GREAT!
What about the Bochurim?

from california
May 11, 2010 8:11 pm

Is there a way to sign up for a live feed of the lecture?

agree
May 11, 2010 6:31 pm

why for boys we don’t help them to mature, to commit to a shiduch not a game or a number…. pretty much what is going on today, b’cause our system is only 1 way the girls, girls… what about boys again where are their mashpiahs, parents…

idea
May 11, 2010 6:10 pm

invite some guys maybe you will make some shiduchim

great suggestion!!
May 11, 2010 5:20 pm

Thanks #1….I like your suggestion. I am a mother of a shidduch age girls. Can this informational meeting for girls be on line via video?? It’s a shame that those not living in Crown Heights can not benefit.

great idea but...
May 11, 2010 5:19 pm

what making a problem similar to this for boys of marriageable age?

great idea
May 11, 2010 5:14 pm

I strongly approve
Now what about something similar for the boys???
I’m guessing they’re interested… I saw one reading a poster advertising this, very intently the other day….

thank you!!!
May 11, 2010 5:10 pm

looking forward very much to tomorrow night!!! thanks for starting this org!

perhaps make this public
May 11, 2010 4:59 pm

err, perhaps someone can take this information and publish it online so that those who cannot come to the event also benefit?
