More than 60 Friendship Circle Mothers experienced a unique mom’s night this past Sunday at an event entitled ‘Spa at the Beach.’
A beach themed room, with beautiful decor donated by the new Sparkles party and gift shop, included a smoothie bar in the center.
The excited mothers were treated to a wide array of delicious desserts and fruits as they arrived, and were given the opportunity of having their sheitels styled, nails painted or getting made up and massaged.
Following the spa, renowned pastry chef Rivka Turner delivered a dessert demo in preparation for Shavuos, with each participant trying their hand at creating a professional dessert.
“I had the most unbelievable Mothers’ Day,” said one appreciative mother. “I had the opportunity of meeting other mothers who understand the challenges facing me, and truly appreciate the difficulties I experience each and every day. Their advice and support means the world to me. I can’t thank The Friendship Circle enough.”
“It was a pleasure to witness the mothers just enjoying a night out, without any burdens or troubles on their mind,” said Friendship Circle Director, Chaya Eckhaus. “We not only need to care for the special needs children themselves, it is imperative that we appreciate what these mothers deal with and help them cope in any way we can.”
The Friendship Circle expressed appreciation for what they say was a true community effort. “Many community members and vendors came together to help produce this special evening,” said Eckhaus.
Shainy Dubroff, Blumshi Dubroff, Candis Smith and Golda Malka Feller were the nail technicians.
Chaya Ives and Sarah Tuller provided massages, as Malkie Eckhaus and Mushkie Moscowitz styled sheitels. Make up was by ZIVA, and the event photographer was Bayla Bryski.
The dessert table was created with thanks to Mr Greens and many individuals who provided delicious desserts.
The evening culminated with Suri Messinger winning a raffle for a manicure, pedicure and facial, donated by La Femme.
