amazing zeide

As his grandchild, I can only say what an amazing grandfather he was. He was so humble, giving and sweet. He was such a good natured person that even when something bothered him he never complained. I was honored to have him as my zeide, may we all learn from him how to have such good midos.

I’m so sorry to hear the news. I’m going down memory lane at Edinburgh shul, remembering your father who had such a radiant face, aidele and soft spoken. He was a moshiach yid. You should only have simchas for now on. L. Silber (Gluckowsky)

I remember in Toronto they announced that he reached 90 yrs old, the whole kehila couldn’t believe their ears. He was sprite, always moving about, even being shliach tzibur occasionally, for a yorzeit or shabbos; Let me tell you folks, this was and will be forever, a fine example of the rebbe’s chayalim!!! biz moshiach tzidkeinu w/melech hamoshiach ychi hamelech

Shtilerheit, with so much eidelkeit and erlichkeit Reb Zalman made a lasting impression on all the Tzugekumener, myself include. He left a Shem Tov and a legacy for his family. We will miss him. May the family know only of simchas here on in. S.Z Rosenzweig

walking diligently to Mincha / Maariv … from his apt. to Edinburgh, back and forth, no matter what the weather was… and sitting in for the Ein Yaakov shiur in between. He was a pillar of contentment, pure devotion, and even though he was a petite man, he was a giant in Ahavas Yisroel. Take comfort: Light / Rapaport families — Reb Zalman lived a full chassidishe life and extended his light to his entire families.

will be missed

I was just walking today past Empire and Albany and realized that I haven’t seen Rabbi Light out with his care giver for a very long time. I am from Toronto and remember him and his family there. What a wonderful man. Only Simchos!

Reb Zalman was a tmimisdiker Chasid that held on to Chassisher chinuch he had in Russia displaying to all that Canada iz Nisht Andersh. He was dugma chaya as to what an erlicher Chosid should be. He always stayed clear of machloikes and was mekabel kol adam bisaver ponim yofos. The family should only know of simchas.
