Rabbi Yossi Simon, director of Tzivos Hashem craft workshops in the UK, was attacked and hurt on Motzei Shabbos by two thugs outside the London Jewish family center, which is in the heart of the mostly Jewish area of Golders Green in North West London.
Rabbi Simon is mostly known for the giant menorah lighting at Golders Green station and more recently for bringing Exodus, a live show on the story of pesach, to London, but less known by his travels to hundreds of schools around the UK, bringing hands-on Judaism to thousands of children.
While putting the finishing touches on the grand Lag B’Omer parade that was held Sunday at Lubavitch House in Stamford Hill, Rabbi Simon was assaulted at around 1.1 5am.
He and another person were pelted by objects thrown from a passing car, and the Rabbi was left with a cut to the ear, needing stitches.
All the suspects are described as white and in their early twenties. They ran from the area on foot.
Not to be stopped, rabbi Simon continued to work through the night and was on site all day at the parade and at the fair, with his bruised face.
On Thursday, citizens in the UK will go to the polls in a general election, with police protection and anti semitism high on the agenda in the Jewish community.

Find these punks and teach them a lesson they will never forget. I would even go so far as to let the Chabad Boxer get into the prison cell with these thugs and continually punch them out till they’re blue in the face.

I’m very sad to hear yet another incident, where a member of our nation was hurt. Ad mosai do we remain unprotected and stand as punching bags to these cowards. Every country in the world allows its citizens to be protected, be it tear gas, knife, or even a gun- its “dina dimalchusa dina” -you should never have to use it, but if you have insurance for everything from your phone to your car, why not you, protect yourself. Yes I am a Shliach and I exercise my right to carry arms.
