Whether it’s the weekly shiur on Kuntres Umayan or the daily Gemarah shiurim, Yeshivat Chabad Lubavitch ‘Chazon Eliyahu’ has become known as a ‘Lighthouse’ – a beacon amidst the spiritual darkness for those seeking the warmth of Yidishkeit.
The Yeshiva celebrated its 10 year anniversary with a Siyum HaRambam which was attended by a number of Rabbis, including Rabbi Yosef Gliksburg and Rav Moshe Miron.
The Yeshiva is known as Yeshivat Chazon Eliyahu in memory of Reb Eliyahu Miron Z”L, a benefactor of the Yeshiva whose Yartzeit was also commemorated on that day.
The Yeshiva, which provides classes taught in Hebrew, was established in 2000 by Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzsky, Head Shliach of Tel Aviv who was sent by the Rebbe to the city in the early 1980’s.
A Yeshiva for Baalei Teshuva, it comprises of some 30 Bochurim ranging between ages 22 and 30, as well as 15 Kollel Avreichim, some who have been with the Yeshiva since its inception.
Shiurim in Nigleh are given by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Meir Schmerling as well as Rabbi Shaul Reitzes.
Rabbi Schneur Zalman Cohen is Maggid Shiur for Chassidus as well as Mashpia for many who have just begun their quest with spirituality.
