Close to 100 girls attended a farbrengen Tuesday night at the ‘Nightlife’ lounge in the Rubashkin home in Crown Heights.
Each of the girls took on a hachlata – a good resolution – in Sholom Rubashkin’s merit, pledging to add a good deed to their routines or an improvement in their behavior.
The list of resolutions was taken to the Rebbe’s Ohel, and Mrs. Feigy Rubashkin said she was bringing it to her brother-in-law as he awaits sentencing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“I want him to see what he has accomplished,” she said. “It was incredible to see the girls opening up like this and publicly declaring their commitments.”
Molly Resnick, former NBC producer and lecturer, spoke at the gathering. “We have to push ourselves out of our comfort zone,” she said. “We want to help? Then we have to put our money where our mouth is – either in charity or good deeds.”
