A historic gathering of bochurim and Shluchim took place after Pesach in the New Zealand Chabad Headquarters in Canterbury.
After a most successful nationwide Pesach campaign, a number of the fourteen bochurim, who gave up their vacation to assist communities around New Zealand for Pesach, have stayed on after the eight day holiday, to continue their outreach work in cities across the South Island.
“The Bochurim have accomplished an extraordinary amount in a very short period of time,” says Rabbi Mendel Goldstein – Director of Chabad of New Zealand, “They have touched many lives and the feedback from the locals and travelers is overwhelming!”
An ever-increasing number of Israeli backpackers have been making New Zealand a priority in their world tour. Some 21,000 come through the South Island each year, and the Chabad Houses in Canterbury and Dunedin have become a popular spot for these young travelers.
Special thanks for the post-Pesach Shlichus goes to R’ Mottel and Esther Feiglin, from Melbourne, Australia, and for their ongoing support throughout the year.
