A lecture Tuesday night in Crown Heights will aim to educate parents about “the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation” from wireless devices.
“People are not aware of the dangers,” organizer Henny Hoffinger told COLlive.com. “There are cell towers almost on every block and near every school. The owners are getting paid, but people are suffering.”
A special-ed teacher at Bais Chaya Mushka, Hoffinger grew passionate about the subject after learning of the direct effect such devices have on stress-related health issues.
Her website, GuardYourHealth.info, singles out mobile phones, cordless home phones, computers and even Wi-Fi Internet connection as sources of toxin effect.
“Talking 500 minutes per month on a cell phone increases the probability of brain cancer, G-d forbid, by 140%,” she says quoting Wireless Technology Research.
The lecture is called for men and women, with free admission, at the Rubashkin residence at 1349 President Street.
Nechama Dina Zwiebel will give opening remarks – reviewing the Rebbe’s opinion about preventing illness and listening to professionals as mandated in the Torah.
Ronna Bejarano of GIA Wellness in Knoxville, Tennessee, will present her company’s patented products, which can protect from effects of the radiation and “increase your level of energy and concentration.”
Hoffinger noted that no products will be sold on hand. “She will share with us her expertise and will recommend effective solutions to stop electro pollution.”
People will scare you on anything and everything. THe internet will make you paranoid. They usually have something to sell you. Usually very expensive. Of course you have to say that it works, otherwise you have to admit you are a fool.
I bet in a few months time you will not be using that device.
The critics are as invested in saying it doesn’t work as much as I’m for saying it does work.
You NEED to say it doesn’t work not to feel bad about not buying it.
It’s this type of attitude that lets people express opinions about everything.
I’m sure you have a lot of opinions about a lot of things.
As long as it keeps you busy, angry, and distracted from yourself you can enjoy it.
Yep… The placebo effect works wonders.
Enjoy your $855 “linear water.”
Like they say, “There’s a sucker born every day”
I’ve used the water, and I can tell you that I don’t feel the fatigue and headaches I had for about 10 years.
The water is simply made thinner so that the body and the cells absorb nutrients better and can let out the toxins.
This is accomplished through being able to penetrate the cells.
I’ve also seen major changes with my 3 year old son as well.
I have not been paid by this organization as somebody said to ask.
ausie ausie ausie!!
its great that someone cares enouph to take initiative.
Dear Jewish Mothers:
Please don’t fall pray to this charlatan. This is not true and there have been many studies. It’s just not true.
Don’t worry about it.
Wow, that video is powerful! Sure makes you more aware…
What a rachmanus on that poor family, (seemingly) without a faith to fall back upon..wondering and mourning… moshiach now!
Tahnk you Hanney haffinger
All you have to do is go to scholar.google.com and search for “wireless technology research brain” (Wireless Technology Research is the supposed source on the flier that cell phones increase chance of brain tumor by 140%.) If you click the first result, which is an article from JAMA, one of the preeminent medical journals, you will see that even though WTR is affiliated with the research, i.e. a conflict of interest, the study still came up not supporting this claim. This link will give you the abstract of another article by the same organization: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11104486.
How dare you use the Rebbe’s name to promote this unfounded scam. The consensus of medical science on this issue is somewhere between harmless and insufficient evidence. If anything, the professionals the Rebbe encouraged us to listen to are those with backgrounds in hard science, not professional sales people and alarmists. This lecture has no place in our community. It simply preys on the innocents who are not educated in these matters (and I don’t not use that term pejoratively). For those of us trained in science and its methodology, it is incumbent upon us to share our knowledge with… Read more »
Is snake oil kosher? Because it looks like someone is selling it.
Stu
i know kids that are much much better after using their products
As someone who has worked in this industry for 14 years – this is hype! Radio waves are all over the place – Taxi firms, Emergency Services, TV signals etc. It is a part of everyday pollution much like air quality, Despite radio waves being around for many years there is no unanimous decision on the effects. More to the point though is the signals given off by the antennas is very low and unless you are within a metre or two you are not going to be really effected. However putting a device to your head – that is… Read more »
Be careful with “Seminars” like this. They are just trying to scare you to sell products, usually that have no evidence of being effective. Of course they will show you examples of people who their products work wonders for, but be sure to ask if those people were compensated for their endorsement. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6209960.stm

a recent study in Scandinavia (http://bit.ly/abS9TN%5D) shows there is no link between cancer and wireless devices as cancer rates have not gone up since the mobile industry began in 1990. to quote “Even though mobile telephone use soared in the 1990s and afterward, brain tumors did not become any more common during this time, the researchers reported in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.” This study coroberates the many others (found easily on google) that have come out over the past few years. If these study’s are correct, all wireless technology (cellphones, wireless internet, towers) is perfectly safe. –… Read more »
will this be available to those who can’t come?

Whats the major product sold by this “wellness” company? A “water structuring” device that costs $855. Is it possible that there are better ways to spend our money?
