More than 1500 Lubavitch Chassidim and bochurim walked for hours on the next to last day of Pesach for the traditional Tahalucha march to shuls in New York’s five boroughs.
They walked up to 3 hours each way from Crown Heights to some 200 shuls in Boro Park, Flatbush, Brighton Beach, Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay, Canarsie, Sea Gate, Howard Beach and Manhattan.
The marchers on Shevii Shel Pesach delivered Dvar Torahs and mentioned the Baal Shem Tov’s custom to hold a Moshiach’s Seuda on the last day of Pesach.
“The Rebbe instructed us to go on Tahalucha and would escort the group from the entrance of 770,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of Lubavitch Youth Organization, which organizes the walks.
“These dedicated soldiers of the Rebbe who went on Tahalucha brought joy and meaning to the holiday,” Rabbi Butman added.
The walks were coordinated by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Butman, Yosef Goldwasser and Shlomo Zalmanov with the NYPD.
it wrote they went to all five boroughs.
but nobody went to the bronx
1st of all in 1990 only 400 went on shviei shel pesach! i think 1500 is tremendous growth.
2nd of all you sound like a big understander about lubavitch and were its heading…one question if i may, did you go on talucha this peasach?
to speak in 200 diffrent shuls is awsome
If only 1500 have gone that’s a bd sign for Lubavitch of today. Shame.
