Merkos Shlichus, the rabbinical visitation program in Jewish communities worldwide, has close its registration for Pesach 5770 sooner then planned.
The reason: more than 600 applicants have applied.
These Lubavitch bochurim will be traveling this holiday to far and mostly small communities, assisting local Jews in arranging a Passover Seder.
Each potential candidate is interviewed by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch who oversees the program.
A first series of interviews were conducted this past Wednesday, with at Lubavitch World Headquarters in Crown Heights.
“600 will be the largest group that has ever gone out on Pesach Merkos Shlichus,” says coordinator Rabbi Shneur Nejar, who together with Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky is working tirelessly to ensure its success.
“It’s amazing to see the overwhelming response from these bochurim and their desire to touch every Jew thereby carrying out the Rebbe Shlichus.”
