It’s an odd mix: three equally accomplished musicians who wouldn’t normally appear on the same concert bill are being brought together in the name of charity.
The “3 Legends” concert, organized by the Yeshiva Centre and Our Big Kitchen, will feature Hasidic music virtuoso Avraham Fried, Jewish Latino multi-instrumentalist Yehuda Glantz and country music favorite Lee Kernaghan. Funds raised will go toward a range of projects run by the two charities, based at Flood Street in Bondi, which is also the Chabad NSW headquarters.
The founder of Our Big Kitchen, Rabbi Dovid Slavin, said the event would replace the Yeshiva Centre’s annual gala dinner.
“This year we thought we’d change the format because the country has been going through a difficult economic period and people need a reason to celebrate,” Rabbi Slavin said.
“What better way to celebrate than through good music being performed by three legendary, diverse musicians?”
The concert will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, on February 18.
Tickets from $18 to $36. Book online at 3legendsconcert.com
