The second major snowstorm in a week will pound the mid-Atlantic on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The new storm, with potential blizzard conditions during its peak, will also extend farther to the north than the recent storm. Heavy snow is expected in New York City and possibly as far north as Boston as the storm dies down Wednesday night.
The blizzard may dump 8 to 13 inches of snow in New York City and Long Island, according to the weather forecasters. The storm is expected to start in the early morning hours on Wednesday and could continue all day.
In New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg took the unusual step of canceling school for the next day before the first flakes.

in Montreal they are better equipped to deal with the snow, here its a real sakanah to have school buses trying to navigate on the slippery roads that havent been plowed.
And just cuz you dont get snow days doesn’t mean you have to put a damper on our excitement, its ok to be happy for someone else.

why do the kids have to stay home? its not that hard making your way through a few blocks to get to school. crown heights is not that big
maybe you can help bring home the kids from school.
Thats why we live in Florida!! And have camping trips while you have snowstorms…Anyway you guys are lucky to have a snowday where you can sleep in, wake up, have hot cocoa and roast marshmallows by the fireplace while we still have our air on…
its ok we can have a day off even though wendsday is my favorit day of the week i really don’t mind having a day off
why are they preemptively canceling school? if they took two minutes to read the actual forecast they would see that by tomorrow morning a bit of snow (maybe 1-3 inches) is expected. the punch of the storm should show up tomorrow afternoon. just laziness.
